M'Ress was on the Enterprise when they received a distress call from the dilithium mining outpost on Cygnus Seven. With her captain, Spock, and Sulu, M'Ress beamed down to the planet to find the mine under attack by mysterious antiquated military vehicles they assumed to be under the control of Klingons. The situation became more perplexing when an equally antiquated Earth truck burst into the scene and all of the strange vehicles transformed into robots. The truck robot was struck by Kirk's phaser before he could prove his benevolence, and the other, more villainous robots were chased away by a photon torpedo from the Enterprise. Further investigation on the planet led to a mysterious metal barrier that exploded open to reveal more robots! Prime's Directive, Part One
