Aberneth the Hawk-Helmed is a human from the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
When he takes off the helmet, he becomes Aberneth the Santa-Bearded.

In medieval times, Aberneth the Hawk-Helmed and his Viking brethren from Giant Island Jotunheim pillaged the Scotland shores. He is a distant ancestor of G.I. Joe's General Clayton Abernathy, codenamed "Hawk".

Fiction

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

Aberneth and Thor FalkenHauser together led a raid on the home village of Laird Mac Cullen. Mac Cullen fell to their blades, only to be avenged by Cullen's younger brother; with the world's very first firearm, the boy killed FalkenHauser and scared the rest of the raiders into fleeing. Immediately after FalkenHauser had fallen, Aberneth retrieved his fallen comrade's mystical warhammer. He went on to settle among the Picts and give his name to the Scottish village of Abernethy, and his hammer became a family heirloom. Stick To Your Guns Because of Aberneth's actions, the hammer's magical powers were hidden and unknown for centuries, until it unexpectedly activated in the grasp of a descendant of FalkenHauser. The War Never Ends

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe: The Movie

This is presented as a comic-book adaptation of a (nonexistent) film adaptation of the Transformers vs. G.I. Joe comic series, and thus is not in continuity with the above.
This panel is literally all we know about him in this micro-continuity. But he seems like quite the fellow!

Aberneth was the only man to fight "alongside the old gods in their final terrible war". These apparently included Prowl and Wheeljack.
