Magna Convoy is an Autobot from the Legends portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Originally a non-sentient drone created for combat support, Magna Convoy (マグナコンボイ Maguna Konboi) was infused with life by the dying leader of the Primus Vanguard. The blue knightonium which adorns his body carries remnants of the leader's power. Magna Convoy's purpose is to retrieve the stolen Matrix Sword and bring the traitor Straxus to justice.

Magna Convoy began life as a drone designated MC11. When two Straxuses betrayed the Primus Vanguard and infected the members with programs that forced them to turn on each other, the program put into Magna Convoy's mind caused him to develop sentience and emotions, and the first emotion he felt was rage. After making a promise to his predecessors to retrieve the Matrix Sword and meeting with the mysterious Soundwave, Magna Convoy assaulted Darkmount and battled one of the Straxuses for the sword, only to find that the blade had lost its power. He was nearly killed by Straxus and his allies before getting saved by a ship that teleported him to a location where the spirit of Blue Big Convoy appeared before him. The Primus Vanguard commander entrusted Magna Convoy with one final mission to protect his clone, a young Transformer named Convobat. Magna Convoy then passed out, and was later discovered and reawakened by Convobat himself. Cybertron Magna Convoy prequel comic Cybertron Convobat

After Magna Convoy taught Convobat about the Primus Vanguard and gave him the remains of the Matrix Sword, the two were attacked by Straxus's Rollermaster Corps, and Magna Convoy confronted Straxus again while telling Convobat to escape. Convobat refused, however, and instead came to his aid and returned the Matrix Sword, believing he deserved it better. Seeing Convobat as a ray of hope for the future, Magna Convoy was determined to protect him, and this determination allowed him to call upon the light of the Matrix Sword and defeat Straxus. He then departed into space with Convobat, planning to find other survivors of the Primus Vanguard and reform them into a new group dubbed the "Blue Order". He was unaware that his actions were being observed by Bludgeon, who recognized that he had inherited the "Blue" of the Seven Lights of The One. Cybertron Magna Convoy

Notes

  • Magna Convoy is based on the blue inner robot/cab of Diaclone Powered Convoy, which also inspired the Generation 1 character Delta Magnus.
  • The name "Magna Convoy" was originally used in Micron Legend as the Japanese name for "Optimus Prime Megaweapon", the combination of Optimus Prime and Overload.
  • Magna Convoy has a straight 10 on every one of his stats.
  • Magna Convoy makes a brief appearance in his original form as the drone MC11 in the first Selects God Neptune comic, obscured when Blue Big Convoy falls on him. Enough of him is shown to reveal that before being granted true life and being reformatted, he was one of the Micro Knights released in the 1979 range of Microman figures from Takara; specifically, the blue Micro Knight, which had the ID number of...MC11!
