Talk:The Burden Hardest to Bear
Errors swiped from Zob's site
Anyway, it's not like BOTH Stunticons couldn't have an oil slick gimmick -- it seems almost requisite for an evil alien robot car. "This guy did something that he never did before and we saw someone else do once!" isn't much of an error. -- Repowers 10:24, 27 September 2009 (EDT)
- Hence why I didn't worst rewrite in the history of ever that one. --Detour 11:56, 27 September 2009 (EDT)
My wife Rosemary Ward-Tuski and I have recently acquired some scripts from voice actor Neil Ross from back in the day, among them this particular episode. It is worth noting that in the script Neil Ross used, it was indeed Runamuck and Runabout that sent Rodimus off the cliff, causing him to lose the matrix. This could explain why they're referred to R and R in the japanese dub. --Raggletag
Can we PLEASE get rid of the Defensor/Bruticus joke?
Please?
Removing on March 8th if no one objects on this talk page by then.
- No. If you’re too soft for the wiki, then go bother people elsewhere on the Internet. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:13, 4 March 2018 (EST)
- I'm not too soft for the wiki, I'm just bothered by that really inappropriate joke. Cylasbreakdown (talk) 17:55, 4 March 2018 (EST)
- Upon notice from Jalaguy, I am going to stop now. Do I have your permission to delete this section?
- That's not stopping, that's persisting. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 04:42, 6 March 2018 (EST)
- I think he(?) meant removing this talk section, but there is no reason to do that.--Khajidha (talk) 06:47, 6 March 2018 (EST)
- Yes, he, and yes, I meant removing this talk section. But I see that isn't happening. Cylasbreakdown (talk) 21:48, 11 March 2018 (EDT)
- This is a really bad hill to fight on. It's an inappropriate joke that isn't funny either, and I say we should take a whole entire 2 seconds to replace it. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 10:34, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- It's really not. An "inappropriate" caption would be one that mocks someone based on race, gender, orientation, disability, etc., or one that makes light of serious subjects like assault or real life tragedies. Simply acknowledging that some people have sex with multiple partners isn't inherently inappropriate. Besides, every time the caption has been changed, it's been brought up and discussed on the Discord, and everyone agrees that it's not over the line and still pretty funny, including admins. We're still a PG-13 wiki, so we're allowed to have some edge as long as it's not being used to perpetuate bigotry. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 12:35, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- There's a difference between "PG-13" and "written by a 13-year-old." Lots of people have breasts, it wouldn't be inherently inappropriate to have a post a picture of a topless lady, it would just be gratuitous and amateurish. Let's please not act like removing the out-of-left-field orgy joke on a picture of Defensor from 1986 is bad for some ideal of representation or whatever. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 15:04, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- We're not posting a picture of an orgy, we're saying the word "orgy". There's a real false equivalence in that comparison. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:11, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- Saying the word "orgy", gratuitously, based on nothing. There are so many pics in TF history, and on this wiki, that are visually suggestive, whether intentionally or not; we make jokes about how the animators drew Cybertron Thunderblast, or Marvel Blaster looking like he's humping Bumblebee. Here, though, we have one character walking towards another, and we go leaping straight to the "orgy" like a bull at the gate. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 15:18, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- We have one character walking towards the other while they're down on the ground with legs spread from an over the shoulder POV; it's not hard to see why someone might read it as a setup for a potentially intimate scene. And again, this caption has been discussed like three or four times on the Discord, and every time the general consensus has been "it's fine".-- Cyberlink420 (talk) 15:51, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
- Exactly. This is not out of leftfield nor a huge stretch. I agree with the assertion that the caption can stay. It's slightly immature, as such a joke tends to be, but harmless. -- Tigerpaw28 (talk) 15:56, 1 September 2020 (EDT)
