The Transformers Dark of the Moon Annual 2012 was published in the United Kingdom by HarperCollins Children's Books to tie in with Dark of the Moon. It contained a text adaptation of the movie, scattered throughout the book in parts, and a whole lot of puzzles and games.

Errors
[edit]- In the adaptation, Ground Control worries that the lander will run out of fuel before it lands, as that would be disastrous. If it has that little fuel left, how's it going to take off again?
- The population figures cited on the "Decepticon Deployment" page seem to be out slightly, particularly Beijing's population which is listed as 14.9 million, but the latest figures give it as 19.6 million.
- Several of the pointers on the same page appear to be pointing somewhere other than indicated. The label for Chicago appears to be pointing to somewhere in Kentucky, while the one for Mato Grosso is too far south-east, and Chernobyl appears to have drifted to the other side of the Ukraine, just beside the border to Russia above the Black Sea.
- Megatron's alternate modes in his bio are described as "Cybertronian tank or jet"
Items of note
[edit]- Skids and Mudflap are featured in the word find and the profiles at the end, though they don't appear in the text adaptation of the film, suggesting it was written after it was clear they weren't in the film.
- The adaptation ends with Optimus accepting Megatron's truce, however.
- At least one piece of non-Transformers photography is included, with a NASA picture of Buzz Aldrin standing on the Moon accompanying the text adaptation.
- Locations pointed to by the Orion satellite: Chicago, Illinois, USA; New York, New York, USA; Mato Grosso, Brazil; Majnoon, Iraq; Olympic Dam, South Australia; Chernobyl, Pripyat, Ukraine; Beijing, China.
