The old gods are among the most powerful beings in the Transformers Universe.

The Chronarchitect was described as kin of Primus and Unicron in 1999, when it was believed Unicron dated from the previous universe and Primus was created by this one. Since The Chronarchitect cannot be literal "kin" to both of them, the term old god can be assumed to be associateve, not class-based.

In 2002, it was revealed that Unicron and Primus are be twin offspring of The One, deprecating earlier retellings of their origin. The Chronarchitect's connection to The One (if any) is unknown.
