Lockdown is a low-ranking Decepticon. He and Clobber are close friends, with the two often seen together resigning themselves to their place at the bottom of the chain.

Lockdown was among the Decepticons present during Megatron's eulogy for Starscream. When orders went out to bring Megatron Optimus Prime's head, Lockdown was forcibly drafted by Shockwave into sabotaging Soundwave's shuttle. He and Clobber, who had been placed in a similar situation, were subsequently drafted into Shadow Striker's own plot as bait. The two went outside to lament their unfair lot, only to encounter an unexpected windfall when the Autobot Hot Rod appeared from a GroundBridge. Acting quickly, they captured the Autobot and brought him to Megatron, who decided to use him as a bargaining chip. Unfortunately for them, Hot Rod broke free of his restraints, and their attempts to recapture him inadvertently foiled Shadow Striker's own, allowing the fugitive to escape. Lockdown was one of the Decepticons present after Megatron announced that they had found the AllSpark on Earth and cheered for their leader. Trials The Decepticons ultimately claimed the artifact. When Hot Rod, Bumblebee, and Cheetor broke into the Nemesis, Clobber and Lockdown attempted to stop the Autobots were overpowered and quickly sent fleeing. Dark Birth Although the Decepticons believed Starscream dead, the treacherous flier soon resurfaced and seized the AllSpark with a cadre of Decepticons. When Starscream made his own power play with an army of Scraplets, Lockdown was one of the many Decepticons drained of energon and paralyzed by the creatures, only to be later restored by a burst of AllSpark energy. Starscream's Children During his escape from the Nemesis, Wheeljack slipped past Lockdown and Clobber, who were complaining about the unsanitary conditions aboard their ship. Secret Science

Lockdown took part in an attempt to take down the AllSpark-empowered Starscream, but, like the other Autobots and Decepticons, was paralyzed and nearly had his spark extracted by Starscream before Optimus was able to use the Matrix of Leadership to blast the artifact free from Starscream's systems. The Decepticons were nearly overwhelmed by the feral Scraplets until Shockwave intervened. With the chamber about to collapse, the Decepticons were forced to relinquish both Starscream and the AllSpark to the Autobots and retreat. I Am The Allspark

Lockdown returned to Cybertron along with the other Decepticons and took part in the subsequent battle against the Autobots, during which he assaulted Kup only to get blasted by Whirl. Battle For Cybertron II

Lockdown was another victim caught in the Quintesson's loop. Clobber attempted to get through to him, and transform. However, Lockdown was to interested in the parade, to hear Clobber's pleas. The Dead End After being freed from the Loop, Lockdown was apart of the resistance to take down the Quintesson's, and proceeded to take part in training simulations, to help build teamwork between the Autobots and Decepticons. He, along with Arcee, took part in firing heavy artillery against the Quintesson's forces. The Alliance The alliance attempted another strike against defeating the Quintessons, by turning off Iaconus's cloaking module, having the Quintesson's be focused on taking down Iaconus, leaving their ship unguarded. Lockdown was one of the many bots who remained behind, to fend off Quintesson attackers within Iaconus.The Judge Upon the destruction of the Quintesson Judge, and the Quintesson ship, Starscream, now a Quintesson Judge himself, rose from the destruction of the ship to put an end to the alliance's short lived victory. Lockdown was among the bots to take shots at Starscream, to no effect. Quickly being taken down, and taken prisoner by Starscream. The End Of The Universe I

With the destruction of the Quintessons threat, the Autobots and Decepticons established a peace treaty, which resulted in the segregation of Cybertron between the factions. Lockdown was responsible for being part of border patrol for the Decepticons side of the wall. While the now turned Autobot, Clobber took part in the Autobot's side of the wall. Both took part in friendly conversation, both of which asking if either received any of the multiversal powers Megatron had acquired, and shared to some bots, in defeating the Quintessons. Neither did, with Bumblebee dropping by, both were eager to see his new found powers. Both were amazed, before Lockdown realized Bumblebee had gone over the wall, and quickly snarked at Clobber that he wasn't allowed to let Autobots over the wall. Enemy Line

At the border, Lockdown and a Decepticon soldier notice a cloud of dust from the Autobot side. Upon realizing it to be a stampede, they retreat in fear. It turns out to be a distraction ordered by Optimus Prime, who leads a strike team into Croaton City with the goal of destroying Megatron's Matrix. Silent Strike

Notes

  • Lockdown's design is influenced by his Generation 1 namesake's appearance in the Earth Wars mobile game. This is evident by the position his card hood, headlights, and bumper on his shoulders in robot mode.
  • Despite never transforming in the cartoon, Lockdown's vehicle mode is implied to be a muscle car similar to his original namesake from Transformers Animated.
