The name or term "Surge" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Surge (disambiguation).
Surge is an Autobot Micromaster from the toyline portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGE!!!!

Surge is a young idealist, full of ideas and confidence. He is always ready to listen to advice and war stories from his combiner partner Retro.[1]

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXTREME CRANE TRAILER WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • Missile Launcher (Micromaster Combiner Transport, 1990)
    • Accessories: Missile Launcher Transport, 2 missiles, left & right guns, left & right shields/ramps
A redeco of Excavator, Surge transforms into a crane trailer which is intended to be the rear half of a red crane truck, which he forms with his combiner partner Retro. As a Micromaster Combiner, he can as well connect to any other Micromaster Combiner or Combiner Transport to make a new vehicle.
He was only available in a set with Retro and the Missile Launcher.

Ironically, the word "retro" means "backward-looking", while a "surge" is a "forward movement". Perhaps Retro and Surge had their names switched by accident.

This mold was also used to make the Japanese Autobot Excavator.
