The otherdimensional land of Equestria is in many ways, the antithesis of Cybertron. Instead of an inorganic world of science and conflict, Equestria is a peaceful organic land where friendship and magic reign. Though the dominant species are intelligent monocratic equines, a variety of other creatures inhabit the realm. Some of these entities seek to exploit their powers over the arcane for their own selfish ends.

Transformers vs. G.I. Joe

To escape a fiery death in the core of Earth's sun, Megatron attempted to open a black hole and use it to escape to another dimension. Athough he perished before he could make the crossing, Megatron's charred corpse landed in a distant reality where "friendship was magic", and greatly confused the native creatures. When the criminal Queen Chrysalis attempted to use her magic to seek out more changelings, she wound up connecting to a malfunctioning space bridge on Cybertron whose energy was piercing the barriers between worlds, bringing a handful of Autobots and Decepticons to Equestria. While Princess Twilight Sparkle was quick to befriend Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, Megatron was just as quick to align his forces with the Changelings. Transformation Is Magic

Among the many displaced Cybertronians were the Seeker trio of Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp who quickly conquered the pony city of Manehattan, Starscream intending to use it as a beachhead for further conquests. Their easy conquest was stolen from them when Arcee arrived to liberate the city, receiving aid from Rarity whose arcane powers countered the Seekers' numerical advantage and sent them packing. Requiring changeling magic to reopen a portal to Cybertron, Finale the Autobots and Decepticons milled about Equestria. Gauge and Shockwave guest-starred on Preppin' with Pinkie, They Eat Ponies, Don't They? while Fluttershy and Discord educated Soundwave and Frenzy on the values of friendship and camaraderie. The Autobots and ponies also held a friendly race that was crashed by Misfire and the Rainmakers, The Flyin' Fox Trot while the Insecticons gorged themselves on the produce of Sweet Apple Acres before a misplaced cerebro-shell sent them away from the area. Strength in Numbers

The Decepticons and changelings eventually launched an attack on the Crystal Empire, the Autobots and ponies coming to its defence. When Chrysalis swore to never open a portal back to Cybertron, Grimlock and Spike, sent through during the initial space bridge malfunction, opened a portal from Cybertron. Combining Twilight Sparkle's magic of friendship with the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus Prime was able to return the Decepticons to Cybertron. After a delightful tea and energon party, the Autobots followed, destroying the malfunctioning space bridge to prevent the Decepticons from ever returning to Equestria, unaware that Shockwave had saved the dimensional coordinates and was planning to bring Equestrian magic to Cybertron. Notes

  • The final issue of Transformers vs. G.I. Joe features a brief glimpse at a My Little Pony universe that amalgamates characters from several different iterations of the franchise; the landscape resembles Dream Valley from the original 1980s television show, but the narration describes it as a place where "friendship is magic" in reference the rebooted cartoon. Thus, it's not entirely clear if this location is truly meant to be Equestria, but we're noting it here anyways for completion's sake.
