Whether on Earth, Cybertron, or out in the cosmos, Transformers often assume vehicle modes that defy human notions of form, function, and physics. Despite the infinite possibilities out there, sometimes these reappear in odd trends.

TFWiki.net: The Transformers Wiki has certain requirements for an alt-mode to be listed here. There must be at least three unique toy molds (as cybertronian modes are rather more common in fiction, this page will focus on the toys) that share the archetype. There must also be at least one unique character per mold —a single character getting numerous revamps in similar bodies over the years would not count as a "popular mode."

Each mold is listed on its own line, with all different-character decoes/retools on the same line. The list is (more or less) organized in chronological order of toy release or fictional appearance.
