Henkei! Henkei! Transformers (変形!ヘンケイ!トランスフォーマー, "Transform! Transform! Transformers") is the name of the Japanese version of the Classics toyline (and part of the 2008 Universe toyline). Like the Beast Wars Returns toyline before it, this line features several redecoes of existing figures to make them look more like the original character models than their American counterparts. For example, Megatron is silver and black instead of gray, purple and neon green, Starscream and Grimlock are colored closer to their show models, Convoy/Optimus Prime and Bumble/Bumblebee have less white paint, and Astrotrain has a more show-inspired deco of dark gray and purple instead of white and violet. In addition to these tweaks, every toy has various areas cast in vacuum metalized plastic, very likely as an homage to the common use of chromed weapons and parts in the early waves of the G1 toyline it emulates. In one further difference from the Hasbro version of this line, the Henkei! Henkei! toys came with a mini-manga. The line ran from 2008 to 2009 and was succeeded by the Transformers United line.
Gentei! Gentei! Transformers (限定!ゲンテイ!トランスフォーマー, "Exclusive! Exclusive! Transformers") started as a Henkei! sub-line of exclusive limited-release toys, which ultimately lasted longer than the line that spawned it. And yes, it's a pun on "Henkei! Henkei!".
