Stampy is a Maximal from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
If your Righteous Indignation has suffered a hit! And your photon accelerator's broken a bit! And you're losin' your mind and you're havin' a fit! Get the funky fresh rabbit who can take care of it!!!

Stampy (スタンピー Sutanpī) is young, cute and... well, not the bravest Transformer around. In fact, he's a huge coward, which greatly frustrates his teammates. When he's not scared slagless at the thought of his next mission, this rabbit Transformer is quite cheerful and well liked, which makes others eager to help him overcome his fears.

Despite his youth and cowardice, he's an excellent scout. His innate speed and extremely sensitive ears make him perfect for gathering intelligence and getting the info (and himself) back to base in one piece (the way he most definitely prefers it). And if worse comes to worse, he can always transform into his "Scissor Mode" to slice opponents with his diamond-sharp blades... though that really only works if he's being carried by someone else, limiting the mode's usefulness.[1]

Return to Zero

After his adventures under Big Convoy, Stampy went on to become an officer in the Cybertronian army. He continued to send part of his wages back home to his mother. What Became of the Five....

TransTech

Stampy's parents were Kitte Shūshū and Z Grill, both avid stamp collectors. According to his mother, Stampy was a good son, always finding time to write despite being on an important mission involving the collection of energy capsules. Andromeda - Axiom Nexus News Reporter

Just barely visible in the middle of that group.

Stampy was part of the coalition army that fought back the Quintesson invasion of the recently reformatted technorganic Cybertron. He and Slapper leapt onto an escaping dropship and planted bombs on it, leaping to safety before the bombs exploded and brought the ship back down to the surface. Wreckers: Finale Part II

One year later, Stampy was part of the crowd of Maximals that had gathered to welcome the returning Autobots to Cybertron. Rook all but shoved him out of the way to get close for an interview with the returning heroes. Abduction

"Ha! You kill me, little buddy."
"Only if we're taken alive, Sam."

Stampy was part of Big Convoy's unit and survived many battles under him. Lio Convoy would later recognize his potential and inducted him into the Pack. Beast Wars Sourcebook #4 He would be officially last seen at Varus-5. The Ascending #4

Stampy later traveled with the Pack to prehistoric Earth to rescue Razorbeast and company. He was very eager to get down there and try out his new rabbit beast form. This "bounding" exuberance, quite predictably, got on Longrack's nerves. When they reached their destination and took on the Predacons, Stampy was seen to handle Manta Ray and Scavenger quite handily. The Ascending #2

"Max, where should I put this so it doesn't hurt anyone we know or care about?"
"Out the window, Sam. There's nothing but strangers out there."

After trouncing Spittor as well, Stampy acted as a cheerleader of sorts when the Pack joined with the other Earthbound Maximals in restraining the Angolmois-infected Razorbeast. He later eagerly asked Lio Convoy what he should do when the Pack's commander was giving out orders. Lio simply ignored him. The Ascending #3

When he returned to Cybertron to help battle Shokaract, his tail caught fire as he escaped from the wreckage of the Pack's downed transwarp cruiser. During the fight with Shokaract, he transformed into his Targetmaster mode and was wielded by Longrack. The Ascending #4

"STOP HIM SAM, HE'S GONNA TELL US A STORY!"

After the Great War ended, Stampy joined Mayhem, a pan-factional anarchist cell led by Carnivac that sought to expose the hidden crimes of both the Autobots and Decepticons and bring down the leaders of both factions. In order to further their mission, the team received a benefactor in the form of the mad scientist Tarantulas, who used the team to test his mass-shifting Chimeracon bodies, capable of disguising their own spark signatures. In exchange for this incredible upgrade, Tarantulas asked the team to relocate to Earth and abduct the disgraced Autobot Prowl. Sins of the Wreckers #2

In his Arctic hare form, Stampy spied on Verity Carlo Sins of the Wreckers #1 and stole her copy of the Aequitas data as soon as he had an opening, fleeing back to his comrade-turned-HQ Tidal Wave. He was pursued by Stakeout and the Mayhem had to engage the Wreckers Sins of the Wreckers #2 before Carnivac sounded a retreat. Sins of the Wreckers #3 Back inside the Noisemaze, Stampy watched as the Wreckers ploughed the Debris into the pocket dimension, threatening to collapse the realm from within. In the ensuing fight, he was taken down handily by Kup, who shot the rabbit in the chest. Sins of the Wreckers #4

Stampy recovered by the time that the Noisemaze began its final, fatal contraction, and escaped with the other Chimeracons. With Tarantulas seemingly vanquished, Impactor took command of the unit and vowed to continue their mission of exposing the sins of their leaders. Sins of the Wreckers #5 Over the next two years, the team continued their covert operations on Earth as the planet joined the Council of Worlds, which included monitoring the anti-Cybertronian firebrand "Megan Guiglione." While staking out one of her rallies in a police motorbike form, Stampy watched as the gathering was interrupted by a mind-controlled Springer, who fired on the politician... and revealed that Guiglione was a convenient bio-disguise for Overlord. Though the 'bots of Mayhem attempted to take him down, they were unceremoniously slaughtered to the last 'bot by the rogue Decepticon. Requiem of the Wreckers

Another Stampy was a Maximal follower of Onyx Prime who was present with his leader on Antilla when confronting a party of Camiens. Surfeit of Primes

  • Stampy (January 1999)
    • ID number: C-31
Part of the first wave of Beast Wars Neo products in the Japanese Beast Wars toyline, Stampy is a Basic-sized figure that transforms into an organic white rabbit, seemingly designed to have his beast mode in a permanent mid-leap pose. His beast mode mouth/head halves are attached to the robot mode forearms via a screw allowing for the slightest amount of opening/closing movement in the mouth (this mouth movement can also double somewhat as his "Rabbit Claw" weapons). In robot mode, his rabbit ears become his non-removable "Ear Swords", with his fists molded to look as if they are holding them. Stampy's Maximal spark crystal is located on his chest in robot mode.
Stampy's toy heavily borrows engineering from Transmetal Cheetor, but the two toys share no actual parts.
This figure also features a third "Scissor Mode", with the Ear Swords pointing forward. When pulling back on the rabbit's tail, the scissor-blades move in and out from each other, to a pretty lame and vaguely scissor-like extent. This mode is designed to be used as a hand-held weapon by his larger comrades such as Big Convoy or Longrack—or any other figure equipped with a 5 mm port. Amusingly, the Scissor Mode gimmick gives him a "shrugging" action in robot mode.

Stampy was also available in the "Prairie Showdown" (草原の対決 Sōgen no Taiketsu) two-pack with the Predacon Sling. Both toys are identical to their individual releases.
Sonokong also released this vs-pack in Korean Beast War Neo markets. The Sonokong Stampy features no differences with the Takara releases, other than the packaging and Tech Spec cards.

Notes

"I don't sleep either. I just know the moment I start to snooze, the ravenous clowns that hide in the closet will come out and eat me."
  • When in beast mode, Stampy's eyes are able to project holographic radar, as seen in the episode "There Are 7 Capsules".
  • As evidenced on the official Transformers Facebook page, Stampy moonlights as the Easter bunny, hiding eggs from hungry children.

Foreign names
