Star Wars Transformers (2005 toyline)
| This article is about the 2005 toyline. For the 2018 toyline, see Star Wars/Transformers (2018). |
Star Wars Transformers is a crossover toyline between Star Wars and Transformers that began in late 2005 and features Star Wars vehicles transforming into mechs based on Star Wars characters. In 2008, the line was rebranded as Transformers: Crossovers, which also featured characters from Marvel Comics. By late 2011, the Marvel side had been phased out and the Crossovers banner was dropped, marking the return of Star Wars Transformers.
The line originally featured toys of similar size to the Deluxe size class from other Transformers lines, with the exception of the Millennium Falcon combiner and the Darth Vader/Death Star toy. Its second incarnation added a smaller size class similar to Scout/Cyberverse Commander size, along with a larger class that was only used one single time.
Although the toyline ended in early 2012, TakaraTomy developed a spiritual successor with 2018's Star Wars/Transformers, featuring significantly more complex and expensive figures.
