Burn Out (Diaclone)
| The name or term "Burnout" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Burnout (disambiguation). |
- Burn Out is a Diaclone vehicle from the Diaclone continuity family and an Autobot Velocitronian from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Part of a detachment from a distant universe into the worlds of the Transformers to combat the multiversal Waruder menace, Burn Out is one of the results of the Diaclone Project, a mech assigned to Dia that uses her personality as the basis of its AI. Unfortunately, since Dia herself is stoic, determined, and stubborn, the AI often clashes with Dia on the best course of action, which tires out the pilot more than actually piloting the mech. Her solution? Turn off the voice command function.
In more familiar dimensions, Burn Out is a Velocitronian citizen with designs on public office via their planet's primary "election," the Speedia 500.

Crossing dimensions in pursuit of the Waruders, Lift-Ticket/Cline and Burn Out/Dia found themselves stranded on Axiom Nexus. Following a Waruder signal underground, the Diaclone team bumped into a group of Cybertron's most wanted criminals. Startled, they fled the scene. The groups reconvened as they both wound up within the Waruder hive. Joining forces with C-81's group, as well as General Optimus Prime and Sergeant Hound, they did their best to hold the insectoid invaders at bay. During the battle, Dia used her mech to great effectiveness, but begun to become overwhelmed when there appeared to be no end to the Waruder soldiers. Things took a turn for the worse when the Lift-Ticket mech took a serious blow, forcing Dia to use Burn Out to protect her now vulnerable teammate. Thankfully, the Waruders were led off-planet thanks to the collaborative efforts of everyone involved. Cybertron's Most Wanted

Timelines

- Burn Out (Souvenir set, 2015)
- Accessories: Small gun, large gun
- Timelines Burn Out is a redeco of Generations: Thrilling 30 Deluxe Class Skids, transforming into a compact hatchback car of made-up model. She comes with a rifle and a pistol that can combine into a larger rifle, and can be held or peg onto her vehicle sides via 5 mm post. Her robot-mode shoulders have hidden non-firing multi-missile launchers revealed by rotating part of the wheel hub up. The double-blasters attached to her forearms can split up and spread out for a wider firing angle. She has visible light-piping on the back of her head, but her eyes are painted yellow, rendering it useless.
- She was available only in an at-show "Diaclone 2-pack" souvenir set with Lift-Ticket at BotCon 2015.
- This toy was repurposed as Shattered Glass Skids. This mold was also used to make Age of Extinction Rollbar, and was retooled into Generations Crosscut.
Legacy
- Diaclone Universe Burn Out (Deluxe Class, 2022)
- Accessories: Energon axe/rifle, liquid nitrogen rifle, twin electron blaster
- Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection "Diaclone Universe Burn Out" is a redeco of mainline Legacy Deluxe Class Skids with a new head that closely resembles Crosscut, as well as additional red and silver shoulder decals. Strangely, the official product description uses the masculine pronoun "he" to refer to this version of Burn Out. He transforms into an approximation of a Honda City Turbo, based on the black version of the Diaclone "No. 9 Honda City Turbo" toy. He comes with the exact same Energon axe and weapons as Skids.
- Burn Out was exclusive to Walmart in the US, with Hasbro Pulse receiving limited quantities of the figure. The Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection went up for pre-order on July 2022.
Notes

- Burn Out is based on the black coloration of Honda City Turbo, the Diaclone toy whose blue version was used to create Generation 1 Skids.
- The black version of the Honda City Turbo was considered for inclusion in the Generation 1 line long enough to be used by Takara in a preliminary 1985 packaging mural.[1] (Said mural featured other oddities, such as the red Honda City R which would eventually inspire Reboost.)
- The name "Burn Out" comes from a Cobra-allied Dreadnok, as Fun Publications also held the G.I. Joe Club license at time of development.
