Bluehorse

Bluehorse is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

National Blue Velvet

Loyal and determined, Bluehorse (ブルーホース Burūhōsu) is a pillar of strength. Always ready to stand up and fight for the weak, he puts his all into everything he does, and will never give up. Once he's sworn to fight for you, he will do so until the very end. As the Emperor of the island nation of Rabbihos, he now serves and protects its young King Rabbit Kid.

Physically, he's an incredible specimen. He's one of the strongest beings on planet Beast; he and Violethorn often compete in friendly tests of strength. His MVP Weapon, the Tomahorse (トマホース Tomahōsu), can smash through anything once charged up. He also boasts remarkable endurance, able to run at speed all day without tiring out. Combine all this, and you have a powerhouse that's hard to stop once he gets on a rampage.

Of course, all that strength is in service of his soft side. In fact, he can get very emotional pretty easily. It's not unusual to see him brought to flowing tears.

Bluehorse accompanied White Leo, Bowdog, Badshark and Deaspider in the search of the Three Wise Ones' Water Gem of Stillness, using his natural horsepower and Tomahorse weapon to dig for it in the dried up lakebed of Lake Sagan. The mission had several possible outcomes: Bluehorse may have helped find the gem by breaking down a wall in an underground cave or he may have been injured in battle with a giant scorpion, forcing the five to retreat. Bluehorse remained in Rabbihos to defend it when Rabbit Kid traveled to reinforce Bistoram during the Laser Beast invasion. Unfortunately, the Laser Beasts took the opportunity to strike Rabbihos, and Bluehorse was killed. Rabbit Kid swore on his friend's grave that he would be avenged. Beastformers VS Laser Beasts

Released only in the post-Transformers "RPG"-themed Beastformers sequel series, Bluehorse is a light-blue anthropomorphic horse in blue robotic armor. The Battle Emblem on his chest reveals one of three symbols when warmed up; Fire, Water or Wood.

Nominally he comes with the "Tomahorse" axe weapon, but there was a chance he could come with any weapon from his case-mates; matching the Beastformer with their proper "MVP Weapon" accessory and enhancing their abilities was part of the "role-playing" game attached to the line.

As part of the first assortment of individually-boxed Beastformers in the "RPG" line, there was a chance his normal pack-in bio card would be replaced with a rare "Burstsun" holo card featuring White Leo on the front, with a Burstsun Battle Emblem sticker in a little baggie affixed to the back, for you to attach to whichever Beastformer you chose.

Meiji candy toys

A small, super-deformed, articulation-free version of Bluehorse was sold both as a gashapon capsule prize by Takara (three per capsule for 200 yen), and as a candy toy with chocolate-coated cereal-like corn puff "chocoballs" through the candy/snack company Meiji (two toys per box, for 100 yen). This stumpy lil fellow could be found in red, blue or green plastic, representing the Fire, Water and Wood elements (even though he still had a rubsign). All of the Meiji Beastformers come with a different Beastformer's weapon attached to their shoulder by a snippable sprue. Bluehorse comes with Crabhit's "Crat Scissors" weapon, while Flykick has Bluehorse's "Tomahorse".

The interior of each chocoballs box contains super-brief bio data for two of the twenty possible beasts, as well as rules for three different styles of game: the traditional Fire/Wood/Water deal, a "flick the figures and knock your opponent over" deal, and a more involved game that requires character data from Meiji's other candy-based Beastformers merch, the Battle Cards (see below).

A gold-foil "Battle Card" of Bluehorse, featuring painted character art of the kind found on early Transformers: Beastformers bio cards (seen at the top of this page), was available in randomly-packed sets of cards that came with ramune-flavored candy tablets. The back of the card features a severely truncated bio, with data for the game from the Meiji chocoball SD figures' packaging.

• Bluehorse is one of 22 figures that were advertised on multiple Transformers-era materials but not actually released in that iteration of the line.
• His 1988 bio card gives him the nickname Blues (ブルース Burūsu), and notes he was born on the Rabbihos Plateau.
