Can't say I'm surprised to be instantly reverted, but I really do think that this old piece is worth mentioning! The similarities to the official product are striking and we know the current Hasbro team's general modus operandi when it comes to gathering reference for new toys and doing market research. The phrasing I used was careful to avoid asserting "yes they directly based the toy on this specific piece of fanart", because there isn't the evidence to support such a claim, but I don't see any harm with bringing it up as background context for this specific concept in the fandom. I don't really find "slippery slope" arguments convincing in this case: like, that famous bit of Back to the Future crossover fanart they used to put on t-shirts obviously bares zero resemblance to Gigawatt. —The Wadapan (talk) 04:19, 30 January 2024 (EST)
