Oblivion is a secretive organization dedicated to fighting against all intrusions of the Elder Gods into human reality.

CVO: Covert Vampiric Operations

Oblivion got wind of H. P. Lovecraft's stories, realizing that they were fed to him throughout a faint call from the Elder Gods. Professor Emanuel Houellebecq was assigned the task of setting up a fake, friendly relationship with the writer while suppressing his work. When the latter didn't work, Houellebecq poisoned Lovecraft at dinner. Creating the cover story that he died of intestinal cancer, Oblivion extracted the vile Relic from Lovecraft's body and kept it stored at Coit Tower in San Francisco.

In 2012, the power of Lovecraft's works on the collective unconscious let the Elder Gods create a crack in their prison. With her superiors dead in the resulting invasion, Amanda Houellebecq became leader and had CVO agent Bools bring her to Coit Tower to retrieve the Relic. Infestation 2 #1 Bringing it to Texas where the Gods sought to use Cross's artillica-heart to create a portal, Amanda was able to unite the two artifacts and use it to close the portal. However, she was was pulled in by tentacles before the rip was sealed shut. Infestation 2 #2
