[edit]- Transformers: The World was a 20-minute direct-to-video compilation released in 1988 by Takara close to the start of the Super-God Masterforce series. This clip show showcases key events from The Headmasters, and two early episodes of Super-God Masterforce, using footage from "Four Warriors Come out of the Sky", "The Mystery of Planet Master", "Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime", "Head On!! Fortress Maximus", "Explosion on Mars!! MegaZarak Appears", "Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1)", "Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 2)", "The Final Showdown on Earth (Part 2)", "Rise Up!! Pretenders" and "Birth! Headmaster Jrs".
Trivia
[edit]- Like Takara's Transformer toy releases, the packaging for Transformers: The World similarly has a Japanese ID number, in this case V-01.
- Also included with the original Takara VHS release were a S.T.A.R.S. "official members badge", and 25 character profile cards that otherwise were included in Takara's packaging for their respective figures.
- The back of the packaging for the original VHS release features profile artwork taken from character models for multiple Headmasters characters, along with Metalhawk and Shūta Gō from Super-God Masterforce. Bizarrely, the profile artwork used for Scorponok's small robot form is actually Lord Zarak's U.S. character model as seen in "The Rebirth" rather than Scorponok's standard Headmasters Japanese character model.
