Widow Maker is a Decepticon from the Age of Extinction portion of the live-action film continuity family.

Created as a marketable drone robot by KSI, Widow Maker turns into an orange McLaren MP4-12C and was "freed" by Galvatron to become part of his new army. No, she is not French.

Fiction

Age of Extinction film

Blink and you'll miss her.

Widow Maker was one of a number of drones created by KSI, using salvaged supplies of transformium from the remains of deceased Transformers recycled into raw materials. She was commandeered by Galvatron and was present in a convoy of his forces as they crossed a bridge and proceeded deeper into Hong Kong to track down the Seed, although there was no sign of her when the Decepticons subsequently engaged the Autobots in the city. Studio Series Widow Maker is based on early concept art for Age of Extinction, transforming into a McLaren MP4-12C, based on such a car present in the final movie. She comes with two original guns that can be mounted on her forearms or held in her hands.
Unlike most other Stuio Series Deluxe cars, Widow Maker does not have a large backpack formed from the vehicle mode roof. This area of the car is instead incorporated into her calves.

Notes

  • Widow Maker was originally intended to be the identity of the Pagani Huayra, with multiple different concept designs created by Steve Jung and Vitaly Bulgarov. Ultimately, she was cut from the film and replaced by Stinger. Later concept designs were much more human-looking and possessed a scorpion-like tail gun, while the earlier concept retained more vehicle kibble and possessed an extendable chain whip with her right hand as the tip. Another piece of concept art depicted her with blue energy swords, which she would have used to fight Drift.
  • The McLaren is part of a quartet of vehicles, alongside an Aston Martin and two Lamborghinis, who appear in several brief shots of Galvatron's forces in vehicle mode, but for whom no robot mode was seemingly ever designed, meaning they effectively disappear from the film once the Decepticons enter combat. This is likely due to the prop vehicles being privately-owned cars borrowed by the film production solely for the Hong Kong location shoot, as opposed to being pre-planned, specially-prepared product placement vehicles, which is the more typical scenario for the live-action film series.
  • The Studio Series toy for Widow Maker merges the early concept robot mode for Widow Maker with the orange McLaren, replacing the Pagani alternate mode. Thus, effectively retconning the McLaren in the movie into being Widow Maker.
