Transformers: Legacy of Unicron is the third trade paperback to be published by Titan Books in their reprint series of colour Marvel UK comics. Flitting between the present-day and the future stories, it covers the twin threats of Galvatron and Unicron as they threaten the Transformers in each time zone.

Notes

[edit]
  • The introduction to the book explains the background to the UK stories collected within as well as real world events that shaped its evolution such as how Simon Furman managed to become editor whilst still being the primary writer and how the inclusion of the Headmasters mini-series was grudgingly accepted despite the tie in US reprints being some way off.[1]
  • The intro dates Ian Rimmer's departure from the editor's chair to "the latter months of 1987", and Furman's takeover being "business as usual for the first few issues, which reprinted US issues 28-29", thereby implying that Furman took the reins from TFUK issue 121.
  • Furman's first version of the Transformers origin story was apparently written without consulting the US editorial office.
