The name or term "Mirage" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Mirage (disambiguation).
Mirage is an Autobot from Cyberworld.
What? It was obvious! He's the Red Spy!

Mirage isn't a bad guy at spark. Sure, he's fallen in with the wrong crowd. And, yeah, he might be taking orders from an even worse boss. And, man, does he really like using his powers of illusion to trick people. But maybe all he needs is the right team by his side to turn over a new leaf.

Fiction

Cyberworld cartoon

Voice actor: Jack Ayres (English),

Mirage and Sky-Byte were sent by Megatron to stop Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Elita-1 from breaking into Cyber City. Mirage used his illusion powers to trick Bumblebee with a fake crate drop from afar, before revealing himself and his partner. He used his illusion powers to attack the group with a multitude of clones, as well as disguising himself as Sky-Byte, before attempting to flee. Bumblebee chased him down, and during a confrontation, dropped that they were looking for a way out via an Autobot shuttle. Mirage was interested, and tried to talk, but Bumblebee knocked him off a building, and he transformed too slowly to be able to fly away, hitting the ground in jet mode. Later, as they were chasing a retreatng Sky-Byte, the Autobot trio stumbled into an injured Mirage, asking for an alliance. Smoke & Mirrors The group snuck through the city and fought their way into a computer terminal, through which them attempted to acquire Scorponok's Tech Specs to give them a chance to beat him, only to be cut off by the city's ruler, Starscream. They tried to flee, but he cornered them in an alleyway, which spawned a mission. The goal was to be the last bot standing on a large levitating platform. Mirage tried to go it solo, but Starscream pounced on him, trying to tear off his wings before throwing him to the ground. He saved Elita-1 from being eliminated, only for both of them to be taken out by Starscream moments later. After Bumblebee was declared the winner, he was drained of Energon. He told the group he would stay in Cyber City and look for another way into the system, but told them to go look elsewhere for the strength needed to beat Scorponok. Screamer City Arena

Trivia

This is what your army building toys get up to when you're not looking.
  • Mirage's character reveal video shows him doing the memetic "Spider-Man pointing at himself" pose with some holograms.
  • Per head writer Ali Lightfoot, Mirage is a neutral in the cartoon, with no apparent faction symbol, due to the show taking place "early enough in the general timeline" that he has yet to choose a side. [1] His toy, meanwhile, is branded as an Autobot.
