Gamer rage comes in all shapes and sizes.

Optimus Prime awoke to the voice of Bumblebee telling him to stop doing something before crash-landing into a jungle in Cyberworld. Getting to his feet, he noticed his HUD had updated as he began investigating this new world. Optimus ventured into a nearby desert where he found an Autobot ship, however, he got ambushed by Scorponok before he could reach it. Optimus attempted to de-escalate the situation, but alas, it was not meant to be and Scorponok attacked anyway, forcing Optimus to flee.

Upon retreating back to the jungle, a block of energon appeared in front of Optimus. When he touched it, he absorbed the energon and his new level stat increased. Optimus did not have much time to process this as soon after, a furious Grimlock emerged from the foliage. Optimus once again tried and failed to de-escalate the situation as Grimlock assaulted him and gave chase. Eventually, Optimus escaped by diving between the heads of a double-headed tree which Grimlock was too big to fit through. As Optimus was leaving, he noticed another Autobot ship falling from the sky and determined it to contain Bumblebee, but Grimlock was quick to free himself and Optimus had to trap him in a vine before heading off to find his friend. Commence Program Optimus found Bumblebee just after the yellow bot had been betrayed and shot by Megatron. Prime Target

Optimus and Bumblebee were discussing ways to get past Scorponok when they noticed a crate drop in the distance and decided to take a closer look. Unfortunately for them, Grimlock and Snarl also wanted a piece of that upgrade pie. After a brief fight against the two Dinobots, Optimus and Bumblebee managed to claim the crate and drove off their adversaries using their newly-found Energon-axe and wrist-mounted blaster. While walking along the river through the jungle, Optimus and Bee's path was crossed an energy tunnel hosting a competition between Elita-1 and Sky-Byte. They intervened to help their comrade, but this punished Elita-1 by awarding the win to Sky-Byte and draining her of her energon, which she proceeded to chew Optimus out for. Optimus tried to negotiate with the Decepticon for a peaceful solution to their stand-off, but he was not in the mood for listening, and pinned him to a boulder with an energy harpoon. The three Autobots were able to drive him off, Elita-1 offered to assist them in getting a weapon strong enough to surpass Scorponok, if they would help her get revenge. River Race Ruckus

"Long live the winner."

Elita-1 helped them sneak into Cyber City, where they were accosted by Sky-Byte and Mirage. Optimus tried to negotiate, but was forced to engage in a brawl with Mirage's holograms, before giving chase to the bot himself. In the end, he rescued Elita-1 from a wheel-empowered Sky-Byte. They, along with Bumblebee, chased the villain until they encountered an injured Mirage, asking to team up. Smoke & Mirrors The group snuck through the city and fought their way into a computer terminal, through which them attempted to acquire Scorponok's Tech Specs to give them a chance to beat him, only to be cut off by the city's ruler, Starscream. They tried to flee, but he cornered them in an alleyway, which spawned a mission. The goal was to be the last bot standing on a large levitating platform. When Mirage and Elita-1 were eliminated, Prime and Bumblebee pretended to fight to lure Starscream in close, only for Optimus to grab him and throw them both off the edge, leaving Bumblebee the winner. As Mirage advised them to look somewhere else to find the strength to beat Scorponok, he saw Snarl watching from a nearby rooftop, and came up with a new plan. Screamer City Arena

Tracking down Grimlock via following Snarl, the trio of Autobots were captured in a net. Grimlock refused to outright help them, so Prime challenged him, one-to-one, in a Hunter vs Hunted mission, with the condition that if he won, Grimlock would help them. Of course, if Grimlock won, he would willingly serve the Dinobot leader. While Grimlock initially had the upper hand, being aware that their roles would switch periodically, Prime was caught off-guard as he switched between chaser and chased. Optimus was eventually able to use the environmental traps against his Dinobot foe, capturing him in a net himself. Hunter vs Hunted With Grimlock recruited, they attempted to find more energon, only to be met by Megatron. Him and Prime faced each other down, and as Mirage and Chop Shop arrived, they began the latest mission module - a race to the summit of a series of platforms. Optimus, Elita-1, and Grimlock played for the Autobots, until Megatron was able to knock the other two down. Him and Optimus faced off mano a mano, but Optimus failed to get any answers about Cyberworld from him before Megatron deactivated the platform from under him, sending him plummeting and enabling the Decepticons to take the win. At Grimlock's suggestion, Prime agreed they would have to face Scorponok soon. What Goes Up

When the time came to fight Scorponok, Optimus and Grimlock tried to distract him as Elita and Bumblebee searched for weak spots. While Bumblebee did eventually manage to locate a vulnerability on Scorponok's back, it wasn't long before he was knocked off, at which point the giant scorpion tried to saw him in half. Elita and Grimlock attempted to save Bumblebee while Optimus went for Scorponok's weak spot. However, realizing that they couldn't save Bumblebee without his help, Optimus ditched the weak spot and helped the rest of his team lift Scorponok's saw blades off of Bee, at which point they were all able to make it to safety with some help from Snarl. Optimus and Grimlock then broke into an argument, with Grimlock stating that Optimus should have kept fighting Scorponok instead of saving Bumblebee. When Optimus tried to counter, Grimlock angrily declared him an unworthy leader and stormed off with Snarl in tow. Storm the Desert

Monster Convoy Lives!
  • Optimus Prime (Cyber Changer, 2025)
  • Environment: City
Released in the first wave of Cyberworld Cyber Changers, Optimus Prime stands about four inches tall and converts into truck mode in four steps. As with other Cyber Changers, Optimus features minimal articulation, with ball-jointed shoulders and hips, plus hinged knees. He has a waist swivel though!
Prime's autotransformation for the torso is remarkably involved, tackling what should be a standard G1-esque problem in a completely new way. Pushing up the roof causes the windshield to fold over the torso, and the head to pop up at the same time, which in turn folds the shoulders out into place. In vehicle mode his smokestack kibble doesn't actually form smokestacks, but rather ends up under the front bumper, forming a pair of cannons. The pegs used to lock his legs in place for truck mode sadly get in the way a bit if you try to have him kick forwards; you sort of have to finagle his legs around at an angle to pose him.
As the figure is fairly bulky and complex for the price point, a few aspects of the toy show signs of budget crunch: the wheels aren't pinned, and only the barest minimum of paint operations are used, leaving many of Prime's traditional details unpainted (see below). The backs of his legs are completely hollow, so there's definitely no room for a trailer hitch back there.
On the bright side, he has a couple of hexagonal 5 mm posts on his back, as well as a smaller 3 mm post for a flight stand!

Destined for an Ironfist redeco.
  • Optimus Prime (Armored Cyber Changer, 2025)
  • Environment: Desert
  • Accessories: Cannon, left & right wings
The second Cyber Changers Optimus Prime has an unmasked face, and transforms into an armored off-road truck in 2 steps with his whole torso compressing in one motion as his chest is flipped up, drawing in his arms and shifting the backpack down to meet his calves. This is more difficult to engage as a mechanism in vehicle mode as the chest doesn't offer much of a surface to push against to begin the process and the roof of the truck also has to be allowed to slide up as this happens. It can be made easier by pulling the arms out from the sides first, then pulling the legs forward and down to engage the lever arm connecting the waist to the back panel. Sometimes, it can also feel as though his robot mode gets stuck; this is due to the torso and back pegging together, and can be fixed by holding the waist and back then pulling apart slightly.
As appears standard for Cyberworld, this Optimus also only features (really tight) ball-jointed shoulders, hips and hinged knees which lock straight. Because his knees aren't pinned in, they have a tendency to pop off when putting him into certain poses. He has a 5 mm port on each arm and one on his back alongside a 3 mm stand connection.
As the larger-size-class (but not actually larger-as-a-figure) "Armored" Cyber Changer, he includes a large geared weapon that splays open the gun barrel and detachable 5 mm compatible wings when pressed, revealing a pair of rockets sculpted inside each barrel half. Fire Blast effects can be attached to either the closed gatling gun barrel or the tips of the wings. It can also be plugged onto Optimus's back (or any other character's with a correctly positioned port) to act as a jetpack.
The figure is named "Offroad Optimus Prime" in listings, but "Offroad" is absent from the packaging.

Notes

[edit]
  • Prime's toy differs from his character model and stock art in various details. His media appearances add white insignia to both shoulders, silver on the front of the truck cab and the vents on his shins, and the traditional yellow details on his crotch and forearms. In the show, his shapes are a bit softer overall, with curved surfaces and rounded-off corners.
