Andy Couzens (December 21, 1953March 8, 2024)[1] was a former Senior Designer and eventually Category Development Head of Boys, Girls Toys and Creative Play for Hasbro Europe. His experience with what would become the Hasbro stable of brands began as a designer at Milton Bradley, where he played a significant part in the early development of such pillar brands as Playskool and somewhat less pillar brands such as Robotix. After the 1984 buyout of Milton Bradley by Hasbro, he was responsible for the European presence of a number of Hasbro brands over the course of the 80s and 90s, including G.I. Joe, Action Man, and of course Transformers. Over the course of his tenure with the Transformers brand he oversaw much of the latter years of the European incarnation of the Generation 1 toyline referred to colloquially by fans as "G1.5" or "EuroG1." In particular, he was personally responsible for the "energon figure" concept and the once-obscure fan favorite Wrecker, Rotorstorm.
