The Multiforce arrives to the Micromaster conflict.

Synopsis

[edit]

The Autobots establish a new headquarters, Metrobase, at the foot of Mount St. Hilary to protect the ruins there, and successfully fend off numerous Decepticon attacks upon the mountain. During one such attack, Joe, Crush-Bull, and Converter unearth a strange pod from the ruins, which emits a mysterious radiation that tears open a rift in space and time. The radiation knocks the Micromasters offline, and they do not see the six shapes which emerge through the tear...

When the Micromasters awaken, all has returned to normal. The Decepticons depart, and the Autobot Micromasters are perturbed by the experience, reminded of the dimensional shockwave that once washed over them. Before any further discussion on the topic can be had, alarm systems begin blaring, alerting the heroes to an interloper. The Autobots confront the invader, who deactivates the stealth mode that has allowed him to get so close to their base and introduces himself as an Autobot named Wing. Five more Autobots, the rest of Wing's teammates in the "Multiforce", promptly materialize beside him, but they don't even get the chance to introduce themselves before another Decepticon attack interrupts them. The Micromasters are amazed when the Multiforce split into pairs and combine into three larger robots to defeat the Decepticon Build Team. Then, when Sixwing enters the fray, they take things to the next level and all merge into Landcross to beat the villain back. Landcross realizes that they have been transported through space and time to this place, and wonders if it was destiny that they arrived in time to intervene.

Notes

[edit]
  • The storyline of Micromaster suddenly ends here, with no further information given on the ultimate fates of the characters. With the confirmation that the story occurs in Generation 1 cartoon continuity, it seems only logical to conclude that these versions of the Micromaster six-teams are the same characters who went on to appear in the Return of Convoy and Operation Combination storylines, suggesting that they remained on Earth until the time of those series, that Sixwing was ultimately converted back into an Autobot, and that the two Sixbuilders were re-combined into one. The fate of the Multiforce—who have clearly traveled back in time from the Victory future of 2025 to the 1980s—is harder to determine. Even more curiously, the Autobot Micromasters' headquarters, "Metrobase", is (in its one illustrated appearance) drawn to resemble Metroplex, and colored in maroon, white, and light blue. Years later, Metrobase was given a new color scheme in "Metrowars" similar to one of the unidentified Titans from the 2005 IDW continuity and identifying him as a unique individual separate from the other two.
  • Years later, the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime would provide a backstory for the Multiforce's presence in this story. The reason that they traveled to the past is because they were caught in the transdimensional shockwaves of the timestorm resulting from Cyclonus's death in the UK Marvel Generation 1 comic. After the Micromaster storyline, the Multiforce adventured through distant space to avoid interfering with the historical events they knew were about to happen, all while awaiting the 2020s to come around again.
