To Apelinq's utter horror, the mastermind behind the attacks is revealed to be none other than the notorious criminal Megatron, having made his return to Cybertron. The High Council is thrown into a panic over this news and nearly thirty Peace Marshals break rank to go after Megatron themselves.

Notes

[edit]

Continuity notes

[edit]
  • Megatron is finally revealed to be the one responsible for the terrorist attacks that had been plaguing Cybertron since Journal 1. The exact nature of these attacks will be revealed in the next chapter.
  • Megatron is also described as "a murderous criminal bent on fulfilling his own twisted vision of a new Decepticon heritage." His being a criminal refers to the fact that he stole the Golden Disk (which was first given back in the first episode of Beast Wars) and the fact that the Tripredacus Council considered him a renegade in the episode "The Agenda (Part 1)". His "twisted vision of a new Decepticon heritage" refers to Megatron's desire to overthrow the Maximal government and conquer Cybertron (something Megatron spoke often about throughout the Beast Wars cartoon) "in memory of the Decepticons" and "for the glory of the Predacons" (both statements given in "The Agenda (Part III)").
  • He is also apparently a fairly well known criminal, as news of his return to Cybertron is enough to throw the entire Maximal command chain into a frenzied panic. The Beast Machines episode "Home Soil" strongly implied that Megatron was indeed rather known of on Cybertron, as evidenced by Botanica recognizing Megatron by name alone.
