I disapprove of bullying. That's why I'm going to beat you up to support my rep!

Hubcap has a long rivalry with Brimstone, one that Brimstone is all too aware of. Hubcap disapproves of the way Brimstone bullies others, and the Autobots' efforts to counter Brimstone have resulted in several battles. Now that they're on Earth, Hubcap, who considers himself the new "king of the road," has decided to end Brimstone's behavior once and for all.<ref>Hunt for the Decepticons Scout Class Hubcap packaging bio</ref>

Fiction

Titan movie comics

[edit]
Function: Mob Drive-By.

Hubcap and Slap Dash were summoned to Earth by Optimus Prime himself to join a new, covert unit (not even admitting its function to NEST) led by Bumblebee. As open battles were turning humans against the Transformers, Prime wanted to them to monitor the Decepticons, wait for windows of opportunity out of the public eye, and then hit hard and fast.

Both agreed to this, but when Crankstart, Brimstone, and Trenchmouth ran amok in Salt Lake City, they had second thoughts: Hubcap wanted to take action, upset at letting the Decepticons cause such havok and viewing it as being out of control. Bumblebee had him stick to the plan though, and the unit hit the Decepticons in an isolated stretch of road, tearing through them; Hubcap personally blew Trenchmouth off the road. Shadow War

Hubcap and his unit would be part of the Autobot/NEST team sent to take down Bludgeon's Russian command hub. However, the Autobots were betrayed and ambushed, and Hubcap was struck down by energy shurikens from Bludgeon himself. Divided Loyalties

Unite for the Universe

[edit]
Ignored? We've seen worse pegwarmers, Hubcap.

When Starscream, powered by Project: Unite attacked multiple human installations, Optimus Prime led an Autobot force to combat the crazed Decepticon. Hubcap was among them, along with Elita-One and Scattorshot. They fired on Starscream, only managing to anger him, but he was soon blasted by even larger firepower, from a Megatron seeking out Starscream's head for his disobedience. On the Road of Destruction

As Megatron and Starscream battled it out without regard to their Autobot spectators, Hubcap noted that he felt neglected. However, Optimus Prime knew that leaving them alone to their fate would still potentially leave the Unite technology in the wrong hands, meaning the Autobots had to separate the two and defeat both. While Optimus went after Megatron, he directed Hubcap and the other Autobots at Starscream. They and Decepticons loyal to Megatron kept Starscream busy until Ratchet was able to arrive and separate Starscream from his Unite technology. With the defunct Starscream still in the care of Hubcap and the Autobots, Megatron and his Decepticons fled. The Strongest Weapon

If we don't get a Super Couper-themed redeco, we riot.

Part of the first wave of Hunt for the Decepticons Scouts, Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons Hubcap transforms into a hot rod based on a 1930s-style car of indeterminate make, but most closely related to the Willys 77 (with some elements of its successor, the Americar). His feet appear to be based upon the iconic foot design of the Japanese mecha franchise [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Gundam|{{#if:||Gundam}}]]. Compared to other toys from the live-action film series, his transformation consists of a mere three or four very easy steps.
Like most toys in the 2010 Transformers toyline, Hubcap features a standard Autobot insignia rather than the live-action movie style Autobot insignia.
The TakaraTomy Autobot Alliance version uses a slightly richer, more cherry-red shade for the red plastic parts compared to the Hasbro version's orangish-red.
This mold would also have been used to make Reveal the Shield Downshift, but that release was cancelled. This toy was also repurposed as Generation 1 Hubcap in the Transformers Legends mobile game, and as Shattered Glass Hubcap in "Coalescence".
