Synopsis

[edit]

Many warriors have taken part in the battles on planet Gaia; among them have been the Maximals, the Insectrons, the Jointrons, Skywarp, Santon, Lio Junior, the Seacons, the Autorollers, and many Predacons. The fiercest battle has been probably the struggle between the Predacon brothers, Galvatron and Megastorm.

It's gonna lose its resale value if you wrench the joints like that.

The Duke of Destruction, Megastorm, has long suffered in the shadow of his brother, Galvatron the Emperor of Destruction. Galvatron has fearsome intellect and strength, but Megastorm promises he will surpass his brother. He thought he had a chance when Galvatron seemingly failed in his adoption of powerful alternate modes, and took command of the Predacons while his elder brother was asleep. During his command, the Insectrons fought their archenemies, the Autorollers, who had joined the Predacons. But the Maximals came to the Insectrons' rescue and sent Megastorm fleeing. Autolauncher and Autojetter also fought Bigmos and Tonbot in a cavern at some point. Eventually, Galvatron was roused from his sleep with the ability to absorb Gaia's Angolmois Energy, to Megastorm's dismay. His ensuing rampage was cut short when the Maximals and Autorollers forced him to overload on Angolmois Energy, which caused him to explode and shed all excess Angolmois Energy.

Megastorm was dropped into a lake of Angolmois Energy, where he became the gigantic Gigastorm. However, the Maximals were able to make him lose his footing and send him tumbling back into the Angolmois Energy.

Everyone's second favourite flying cybernetic shark guy.

The Seacons' photon sailer was suddenly halted by Nemesis, and Galvatron used this opportunity to brainwash the Seacons into serving him.

The power of Angolmois Energy was also used to evolve other Predacons—Starscream became Hellscream and BB became Max-B. However, Galvatron notes that mere strength does not make a leader. Not only does the physical need to be strong, but also the mental. This is exemplified by Thrust becoming Thrustor and Dirge becoming Dirgegun. Despite their greater power, they still proved incompetent in battling the Maximals. Galvatron finally found a worthy successor in the form of Lio Junior, and attempted to bring him over to his side by corrupting him with evil Angolmois Energy, but this plot was foiled. Galvatron and Gigastorm have come to blows, and the battle between brothers seems destined to last forever.

Moon segues into "Transformation Corner", showing off all of the transformations of all of the warriors on Gaia. Artemis is, of course, impressed the most by Starscream and Hellscream.

Notes

[edit]
  • This is one of the clippiest clip shows that ever clipped.
  • Ostensibly a retrospective on the rivalry between Galvatron and Megastorm, this episode's clips are heavily padded with title cards, transformation sequences, even an (admittedly awesome) animated scale chart of the characters. The final 3:30 of the episode's run time is just stock transformation sequences for most of the cast, sometimes even the same characters done twice, once from beast to robot, and then in reverse.
  • The "thirty-nine" warriors are never specifically named, and a bit of a cheat is necessary any way you look at it. Adding together the original Maximals (6), Insectrons (6), Jointrons (3), Magnaboss combiner team (3), Galvatron and Megastorm (2), the Combatrons (4), Autorollers (4), and Seacons (5) is only thirty-three warriors. Counting Gigastorm and the Cyborg Beasts double, however, does bring it up to thirty-eight warriors. And then...Ikard?
    • There are thirty-nine transformation sequences used in the final "Transformation Corner", but that version counts Ikard, Moon, God Neptune, Magnaboss, and Tripledacus because, for whatever reason, Scylla was the only individual Seacon to have her own stock transformation.
