{{Art}} is a template for crediting illustrations. Its purpose is to ensure images are credited properly, not merely attributed to the pencilers (as has been common practice).

A typical comic scan might be credited like this:

{{art
|pencils=Andrew Wildman
|inks=Stephen Baskerville
|colors=Nelson Yomtov
|letters=Rick Parker
|script=Simon Furman
|from=the [[The Transformers (Marvel Comics)|Marvel ''Generation 1'' comic]] issue "[[A Savage Circle]]"
}}

From the Marvel Generation 1 comic issue "A Savage Circle",

You can use as many or as few of those categories as you wish. For example, letters and script would not apply to a scan with no dialogue or narration. Also, sometimes a single person has performed multiple duties, in which case other parameters are available.

For a picture drawn by only one artist and colored by another, use line-art:

{{art
|line-art=Geoff Senior
|colors=Sarra Mossoff
}}

For a picture created entirely by one artist, use simply art:

{{art
|art=Matt Kuphaldt
}}

If you need to apply a credit that is not included in this template, you can create one through the parameter other:

{{art
|other='''Breakdowns:''' Don Perlin
}}

]]

  • Breakdowns: Don Perlin

If you don't know who performed a certain duty, fill the parameter with "unknown" and set the help parameter to "true" or "yes". This will add the image to Category: Images with insufficient attribution, asking others to help properly identify it:

{{art
|line-art=Don Figueroa
|colors=''unknown''
|help=yes
}}
