Transformers references
- Multiple Electrostatic Soundwaves populate Soundwave's virtual world.
- Virtual human Bulkhead uses Prowl's first toy's primary weapon.
- Scrapper names the triceratops Dinobot "Snarl" as a second choice after he took offense to "Slag", referencing the real-life name change for Snarl.
- Soundwave also mass-hypnotized humans in the Generation 1 cartoon episode Auto-Bop.
Real-world references
- Both Wreck-Gar and his voice-actor, "Weird Al" Yankovic, play the accordion.
- Optimus refers to Laserbeak as an "axe" (a common nickname for guitars) before forcibly transforming him into his alt. mode.
Trivia
- Several questions were left unanswered in this two-parter, including how Soundwave was rebuilt after his last appearance Sound and Fury, where Laserbeak and Ratbat come from, and how Soundwave was able to reprogram all of Porter C. Powell's toys.
