Some sparks are mitotic which allow a Transformer to separate into more than one part while still being a single Transformer.

Fiction

Toy bios

Magmatron's mitotic spark allows him to separate into three powerful dinosaur modes, Landsaur, Seasaur, and Skysaur.

Notes

  • This ability should not be confused with combiners, which combine separate characters into a single machine.
  • Other Transformers exist that are able to split into component forms in the same manner as Magmatron. Those Transformers, for the most part, were introduced before the concept of sparks entered into fiction. Notable examples are the Duocons and Sky Lynx. It hasn't been established if those Transformers could be retconed into having mitotic sparks or not.
