GITS

IS this confirmed or just theory, about the Ghost in the Shell reference? User:Eire 17.04 May 2 2009 (UTC)

Yellow Grandus = Dug/Dag Base?

I don't know how well accepted Twitter Tweets are as references, but Derrick Wyatt said as much here: http://twitter.com/DerrickJWyatt/status/1679234985

Someone ought to let him know that it's "Dag-Base". I mean, it is "Dag" instead of "Dug", right? --Sabrblade 20:43, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Romanization of Japanese media is almost never an exact science.--RosicrucianTalk 20:49, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Well, the name derives from the title of the series itself. (Dagwon.) —Interrobang 21:09, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Except even that Romanization isn't necessarily 100% correct. The "w" sound only derives from the dipthonging of the "gu-o" portion of the title, for instance. If they'd used the kana "wo", I'd agree more with it. But yeah, since the official Romanization is "Dagwon", the "Dag-" prefix for all the mecha is technically a little more correct than the "Dug-" prefix. Otherwise, they're interchangeable. Neither really makes sense wherever the prefix is used for the mecha names.--Apcog 21:43, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
The way I see it, "Dug" would only work if the guy had some built-in digging feature, which I doubt he has. And if he does, I doubt we'll ever get to see it what with only three episodes remaining. --Sabrblade 00:03, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Like I said, neither makes sense. "Dug" has a meaning in English, which is partly why I prefer it, but neither it nor "Dag" provide any special nuance here.--Apcog 02:03, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Crowd scene

I'm also seeing Glyph, Hubcap, Brawn, and a tall orange dude (Wedge?) in the side-view of the crowd.KrytenKoro 14:57, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Plus, an unknown stripy dude (here).KrytenKoro 14:59, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
I also noticed a character that kinda looks like Seaspray, except he's mostly green, with a bit of yellow and a red head... Anyone more Transformers savvy then me knows who it might be? He's behind Warpath and Mainframe when there's a close-up of the crowd cheering. --Ascendron 18:25, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Seems to be Cosmos. Looks like he's got Enterprise-style nacelles. - Chris McFeely 18:28, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
We totally need these crowd shots in widescreen. And hi-def. --abates 20:32, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
Good idea. I'll get on it. --Metal Gear NOIZE Metal Gear NOIZE 20:36, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Some shots of the cameos
The "Brawn" in that shot is an off-colored Cosmos. That is indeed Powerglide just above. The blue Bee-body is Freeway. The "tiger-striped dude"... --M Sipher 21:30, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

It's not Tigertrack Siph. (That was my first thought too.) He's MOSTLY green, but the color-muddyness resulting from the compression artifacting just makes it hard to tell-- yellow is just the accent color.
(The nose is the clincing factor.) -Derik 01:40, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Corahda doesn't have a feather headdress or anything Aztec to him. That's Saberback. And I don't think this is either of them. I can't image Animated Corahda NOT having a whip-arm. --M Sipher 01:54, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
...Chorada is Aztec styled. He has a fucking conquistador's hat and a poncho as Japan's confused temporal mish-mashing of the Spanish conquest of the Americas. It looks like Wyatt has ditched the confusing vaguely-offensive Gaucho/Conquistador/Aztec hybrid and just gave him an straight Aztec motif. (He does that, restyling heads.) -Derik 02:05, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
I was wrong about the feather though-- that's Shaggy's hand. Which means he just got an Aztec helmet with a beak nose. Like Xander!
Don't sweat this guy too much - you will most likely get a clearer shot of him next episode. --Jimsorenson 10:49, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Not unlike Sari, Jim Sorenson knows stuff. - Chris McFeely 11:13, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
<Layla Miller> I read Wyatt's twitter feed, I know things. -Derik 16:37, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Pfft, like Jim hasn't already come across an animation model with an episode number on it in the course of his Almanack-ing! - Chris McFeely 16:53, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
Derik, Layla's catchphrase is "I know stuff", not "I know things" :)
*desperately wanted to add that as a reference from Sari this ep, but realised it would be pushing things without any actual evidence.* - SanityOrMadness 17:05, 3 May 2009 (EDT)
I totally had a dream last night where he was Lockdown in disguise, and called himself "Countdown". That is all. - Chris McFeely 07:57, 3 May 2009 (EDT)

Flipsides is also totaly in the crowd to (still doesn't have an account, lazy person)

So in the time it takes for Swindle's transwarp signature to be detected having left the Elite Guard ship, the ship itself is able to fly all the way back to Earth?

Lightspeed, remember?KrytenKoro 17:26, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Why would Swindle need help telling the Starscream clones apart when they're different colors?

Well, he is a businesscon. His arguments don't need really to make sense, they just need to seem sensible enough to convince the customer to take the deal.
I didn't see an exchange of money there, did you?KrytenKoro 17:26, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
He could be trying to put it on Megatron's tab... Or bring it up later, when he's in a tight spot, to try and make the other bots think they owe him. In any case, if they like the merchandise they got in this episode, they might be more likely to come back to him for more upgrades later on. There's a million business-related reasons why Swindle might be acting this way, tactics like that are used all the time by real businessmen. Just don't look too much into it, and try to enjoy the episode for what it is at face value. :) --Ascendron 17:31, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
First mod's free. After that, they're gonna cost ya. Hooper_X 21:10, 2 May 2009 (EDT)

Full speed ahead!

The whole idea of going full speed through a large area which has some potentially disastrous effects in order to get to their destination on time... Kinda seems reminiscent to Titanic, no? (74.216.59.85 20:23, 2 May 2009 (EDT))

Action movie wankery

This "reference" paragraph is really wishy-washy. Can we tighten it up, or maybe remove it altogether?--RosicrucianTalk 22:05, 2 May 2009 (EDT)
