Storm Jet (Energon)
| The name or term "Storm Jet" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Storm Jet (disambiguation). |
- Storm Jet is an Autobot from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Storm Jet is the leader of the Air Team, five robots who make up the legendary super-energon-fueled super robot Superion Maximus. Even though he's an expert marksman with heavy firepower, Storm Jet is a brawler at heart, a rowdy robot who's always itching for a fistfight. If there aren't any Decepticons to smash, then he'll pick on his fellow Autobots in order to instigate a brawl. Even warnings from his commanders don't seem to dampen his need to smash stuff... he just takes it out all the more on whatever luckless Decepticon happens to cross his path.

Fiction
Energon cartoon

When the current Decepticon leader Megatron discovered a hidden chamber and four ancient, towering guardians, he destroyed one of the Autobot guardians, reactivating the ones that remained and revealing the Super Energon pool they had been guarding for countless years. Ambition Superion Maximus awoke to find his brother dead, with the Decepticon leader claiming the Super Energon for himself, absorbing its power to become Galvatron. Superion tried to stop him to no avail, so he split up into the Air Team and escaped, with Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus in hot pursuit. Wishes
During a virtual training match between the Autobots and Decepticons, Storm Jet led the Air Team against the Destruction Team and the Construction Team. The Autobots combined into Superion Maximus to take on both Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus, but were eventually defeated. Distribution
Storm Jet and the Air Team had their revenge against the Destruction and Construction teams during a final show down with the treacherous Decepticon combiners. Bruticus Maximus and Constructicon Maximus double teamed Superion Maximus, who held his own, managing to briefly fend off Bruticus before pinning Constructicon to a wall with his limbs, allowing Storm Jet to crush Constructicon's spark. However, Bruticus Maximus recovered and destroyed Terradive, Sky Shadow, Treadshot and Windrazor, leaving Storm Jet alone. As he was crushed by Bruticus, the ghost of his brother appeared, destroying Bruticus' arm. Storm Jet took the opportunity to recover the dead Constructicon Maximus' limbs, and transform back into Superion Maximus. Before Bruticus could recover, the Autobot pierced his spark, causing an explosion which engulfed them all. Spark
Toys
Energon

- Storm Jet (Deluxe, 2004)
- Team ID number: A5
- Storm Jet transforms into a Cybertronic jet based vaguely upon an SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. He also forms the torso to the Superion Maximus combiner robot, capable of using any "Powerlinx Combiner" limb-robot combination thanks to the universal connector points used for the Air Team, Destruction Team and Construction Team toys.
- Early releases of the Hasbro Storm Jet lacked the blue "Powerlinx" cog tampograph, which was added midway through the run.
- This mold was also used to make the Universe (2008) Superion component/team leader Silverbolt, as well as the identical the Target-exclusive Revenge of the Fallen Superion component/team leader Silverbolt.
- Superion (Multi-pack, 2004)
- Japanese ID number: SC-26
- In Japan, Storm Jet (aka "Afterburner") was only made available as part of a complete Superion gift set. The two versions are largely identical, the main difference being that the Takara release uses a darker clear-blue for the "energon" bits than the Hasbro version and gray instead of tan.
Universe
- Storm Jet (Deluxe, 2005)
- Storm Jet was repackaged on a Universe-themed card (but still in the Energon-style longer-than-tall configuration) and sold through discount chains in the US like Big Lots!. No mention of his combining ability is made on the cardback.
Trivia
- Storm Jet's bio mentions he has a large arsenal of firepower... yet not only does he have no accessories, but there are very few features on his toy mold that imply "gun". Maybe they all flip out of hidden panels or something.
