Fiction

Generation 1

Generation 1 cartoon

The Decepticons collaborated with a usurper in an unnamed nation in stealing a number of planes, intending to use them to create a drone army to seize the region's oil fields and a big frikkin' griffin robot to do... something. The Aerialbots and Prince Jumal thwarted this brilliant plan. Aerial Assault

In 2005, Dirge and Ramjet hid out in Carbombya. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1

Later, Octane and Trypticon went to hide in Carbombya and use its oil, with Octane planning to use the refueled Trypticon against Galvatron, while providing (bad) coastal defence of the nation to keep the Carbombyans sweet. Eventually, Carbombya's ruler Abdul Fakkadi started getting the Decepticons to steal famous buildings for him to create a tourist trade. When other Decepticons turned up and simply took over the country, Fakkadi had to call in the Autobots, who made him promise to never ally with the Decepticons again. Thief in the Night

Transformers (2007)

The American SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar was an early target, being assaulted by Blackout who hacked its data and wiped out the entire base. A few surviving soldiers under William Lennox and local civilian Mahfouz were hunted down by Scorponok, almost being exterminated (along with a local village) before reinforcements brought the rain.

Scorponok is still out there...

Titan Magazines

Ironhide and a US Army Ranger team combed the Qatar deserts for Scorponok. The Decepticon managed to hack into Ironhide and make him attack the soldiers for a bit, but they eventually exterminated him. Scorpion Sting

Toy bios

A not-actually-dead Brawl escaped to the Middle East and converted himself to solar power. He now lies in wait, attacking human convoys and armoured columns... well, because he can, basically. Deep Desert Brawl

At the same time, an abandoned Scorponok is trying to hide out in the empty deserts, but is being grimly pursued by Bumblebee. Legends Scorponok

Transformers The Game

Blackout and Scorponok attacked a SOCCENT Forward Base in Qatar and had a massive battle, only for it to turn out to be completely pointless. So they went home again.

Transformers: Decepticons

Once again Qatar is attacked, with Create-A-Bot leading Blackout and Brawl in a massive assault on human forces there. Create-A-Bot took on the human troops and Brawl held off reinforcenments, while Blackout, under fire, hacked data from buildings and took out satellites. Then they fought off Autobots and won! HIGH SCORE! Transformers Autobots/Decepticons

IDW Sequel comics

Decepticon reinforcement Jetstorm made his landing in the Middle East. He scanned his alternate mode at a nearby US air base before destroying it... Jesus Christ, do the Decepticons have it in for US bases in the Middle Eastern, they don't even look at Qatar's own military bases... Alliance issue 3
