Pat Lee

You poor bastard. --FFN 09:51, 30 March 2009 (EDT)

All in the name of giving information to those that might not know. *sigh* I sorta feel ashamed, being a fellow Asian. --Lonegamer78 10:10, 30 March 2009 (EDT)

List of Cybertron episodes

No one's gotten around to making one yet! There isn't an episode list page for Robots in Disguise yet either - I keep meaning to start one. --abates 07:18, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

Eh, good thing I'm already working on one for Cybertron. ;) --Lonegamer78 07:25, 20 April 2009 (EDT)
They look good - thanks for doing the RiD one! Why did you remove the quotes from around the title on some of the episode pages though? They seem to be standard on the other series (G1 for instance). --abates 03:34, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
Easy enough to follow a format, after some tweaking (even if it looks a bit squished from the info). And eh, whoops on removing the quotes from the titles. ^^; --Lonegamer78 07:34, 21 April 2009 (EDT)

Movie Prime

Thank you for the pic! I've been meaning to upload ROTF pics for some of the characters, and this is the one I had in mind for Prime. Thank you again.--AWT88 19:30, 6 May 2009 (EDT)

My bad, I didn't pay much attention to the differences, been a little on edge today. Still though, the caption fits greatly.--AWT88 19:33, 6 May 2009 (EDT)
S'cool. And how could I not on the caption? :D --Lonegamer78 19:44, 6 May 2009 (EDT)

In Need of Photos

I slapped together a page for Poly, any chance you have a useable pic of him from your BotCon '09 collection? I had been thinking maybe a crop of that pic with him and Mowry holding the Cosmos stuff... --Jeysie 18:00, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

That pic of him with Mowry was the only one I ever took during the con. Just be glad that it wasn't with my regular camera (bloody thing busted out on me again!). --Lonegamer78 18:17, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
Lucky indeed, then, as that's one gorgeous shot (in more ways than one >_>). Thanks! --Jeysie 18:26, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
Welcome! --Lonegamer78 18:32, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Roger Slifer

... you mean to tell me we were both in that ridiculously under-attended G1 writers panel at BotCon and neither of us knew the other was there? How embarrassing. --Monzo 08:37, 21 June 2009 (EDT)

*breaks into hysterical laughter* I was the one who said all those thank-yous, with a happy David Wise when I got to "Girl Who Loved Powerglide"! --Lonegamer78 15:49, 21 June 2009 (EDT)

Hey, I noticed you've been doing a great job on the Henkei fiction articles, and wondered if you would be interested in helping get the Alternity storypages up to snuff. We've got From Here to Alternity translated, but not much else. I'll have Megatron's pack-in fiction sometime next week when my BBTS shipment arrives, so I'm willing to provide scans if you need them. Ideally, we'd like a translation to stick in the /src part of the article like we did for From Here to Alternity, and I'd love your advice on how best to write up articles on such short snippets of fiction as we're getting here.--RosicrucianTalk 13:30, 4 July 2009 (EDT)

I'll consider it. On the fiction articles themselves for From Here to Alternity and Arch-Nemesis!, the only thing I can suggest is just a simple summary with whatever notes/TF references present, kinda like how I wrote up for the Henkei pack-in comics. --Lonegamer78 14:49, 4 July 2009 (EDT)

Chinese name

Hello. ;-D Actually, according to what I learned from the University, the spell of Chinese words differs from region. Taiwan uses Han-yue Pin-yin Romanization, which contains macrons and dash; while China uses Romanization Hanyü Pinyin, which doesn't include macrons and dash most time.

For example:

  • 火車 (Train)
    • Taiwan - Huǒ-chē
    • China - Huoche
  • 七 (Seven)
    • Taiwan - Chi
    • China - Qi

--TX55TALK 08:18, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

Interesting. When I took Chinese during high school, we simply used Pinyin. I would like to leave the macrons and dashes in, if only for sake of posterity on pronunciation - heavens know how many ways it can be butchered. :) I grew up learning zhuyin, so it's a bit of a leap on me on using pinyin. --Lonegamer78 08:52, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

OOps, a BIG oops, I wrote the name opposite, it always confuse people, because Taipei City use Hanyue, while other areas remain using Romanization. Jesus, I even leave a wrong note in the edit summary. I feel so guilty...

Back to the topic, as far as I know, there are at least three kind of spelling for the Chinese (more precisely, Mandarin) pronunciation: Two for Romanization and one for Hanyü Pinyin (or simply Pinyin).

For example

  • 至(ㄓˋ)
    • Romanization (1) - Jr
    • Romanization (2) - Chìh
    • Hanyü Pinyin - Zhi

Honestly, the English spell for Mandarin is truly complicate, I still need to look up the spelling table to make sure the spell is right or not sometimes.

Actually, I'm amazed that there are people teach Jù-yīn/Zhuyin outside Taiwan ;-D, since it's mainly used in Taiwan. I've mentioned it to my several Chinese friends from South East Asian, Hong Kong, and China, nearly all of them did not know Jù-yīn/Zhuyin pronunciation. --TX55TALK 12:07, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

Well, that's going to be fun. And in comes "clashing of what the editors learned due to different schools". :D I've gotten used to using pinyin, regardless Taiwanese or Mainland Chinese. Oy, I can't imagine when we get the Cantonese names... And I speak the language!
Saturday morning lessons at a church, much to my annoyance as a kid on preferring the morning cartoons ("Godzilla: The Series" was airing at the time!). I rarely have the opportunity to use either zhuyin or pinyin, though. --Lonegamer78 14:59, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
Regardless of the difficulties, I'm getting a kick out of reading the Chinese names and translations. --Jimsorenson 15:10, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
Just take a look at G1 Optimus and G1 Megatron's Chinese names for a sample of "weird translations", Jim. When I found Megs' Cantonese name(well, the article was covering Movie Megs but still applies), I was all "WTF?!" --Lonegamer78 15:15, 24 August 2009 (EDT)
Speaking of Cantonese name, though I can't speak Cantonese except for several common words learned from my friends or films, I know the English spelling for Cantonese is complicate, too. (At least I know there are two types of the English spelling.)
As for the meaning of the Chinese name, Megs' Cantonese name isn't weird enough since it is a vocal translation. The real "weird names" are those such as Optimus Prime, Meg, or Ultra Magnus' Chinese name in China (most of the people can't understand how the name came from), which is so weird that even some fans in China say they rather use nicknames or fan-made Chinese names rather than the official names. --TX55TALK 04:25, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
True, true, and nonetheless, they still get "WTF?" reactions from this speaker. :P And probably moreso with most Western fans. Fikes, which English spelling are we going to use on Cantonese, on that note. --Lonegamer78 07:29, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
For some Cantonese names I've wrote, they were spelled according to this website where I look up the pronunciation and English spelling. :D --TX55TALK 07:38, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
Huh. I was using Yale's when I put up Megatron and Bumblebee's Cantonese pronunciations. I might be doing some really minor editing here and there, if you don't mind; e.g., Dinobot's 堡 is pronounced "bou", as "pou" would've been something else. :3 --Lonegamer78 15:13, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
Oh, of course not at all, and thanks for the notice. ;-D I remember when I was editing Dinobot's page, I look up the website mentioned above and find those two spelling, since I haven't watched the Cantonese dub of Beast Wars cartoon, so I don't know which is correct. --TX55TALK 22:12, 25 August 2009 (EDT)

My edits

Any particular reason you felt the need to revert the 2 captions I made? Potty Mouth Anon 00:28, 27 August 2009 (EDT)
