Doctor Fujiyama the Famous Scientist built a ninja robot, Nightbird, to benefit mankind. However, the Decepticons stole her and reprogrammed her to be evil, so he locked her away for humanity's protection.

Decades later, he built an army of them, and for some reason, that didn't go well either. They killed Wheelie and Daniel Witwicky.

He's not a quick learner.
