Mirage was just a down-and-out bank robber until he subjected himself to one of Ratchet's experiments to gain permanent partial transparency. Now he's a new and improved... down-and-out bank robber that everyone ignores and overlooks.

Shattered Glass

Mirage was tapped for being interviewed by Andromeda on Around Cybertron. But before the interview could begin, Andromeda was distracted by hearing about a coup against Optimus Prime, and ran off to cover it.

Mirage reacted by lamenting about how no one pays attention to him, but the newly-arrived Rook was too busy cooing over getting his precious newsdesk back to initally notice. He then apologized for not seeing Mirage there at first, which just depressed Mirage further. Around Cybertron #7
