- The library droid is a drone from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The library droid appears to be in sole charge of the Hall of Records on Cybertron. He doesn't get out much, which may go some way towards explaining his impatient, anti-social manner towards visitors.

When Daniel Witwicky and Wheelie visited the Hall of Records to find out Ultra Magnus's date of construction, they were met by the library droid, who demanded to know who they were and what they wanted. Unfortunately, information pertaining to the date of Magnus's construction was unavailable, being held on an artificial storage asteroid. The library droid happily provided the pair with the asteroid's last known coordinates, as there was no way that they'd be able to get a ship to take them there anyway.
A while later, Ultra Magnus and Spike Witwicky paid the Hall of Records a visit, looking for Spike's son, and the library droid told them he'd given Daniel and Wheelie information about the storage asteroid. Surprise Party
