Incinerator (Movie)

- Incinerator is a Decepticon from the 2007 movie franchise in the live-action film continuity family.
Most of the Decepticons who came to Earth seeking Megatron stick to the shadows, stealthily seeking out tips on their leader's whereabouts. However, stealth is not Incinerator's thing. He wants to know where Megatron is, and he's going to interrogate every Autobot he can capture to find out. His interrogations generally consist of taking his hapless "passengers" on a terrifying flight and scaring whatever scraps of information they might have out of them. Of course, once they've told Incinerator what he needs to know, they're free to go...

Incinerator was one of Stockade's "new Decepticons": a group of Decepticons who remained on the dying Cybertron out of patriotism, and survived by feeding on Nucleon. Sadly, he does not have copter blades for hands. Return to Cybertron: Part 1
He helped summon an entity to Cybertron to rebirth the dead world and oversaw the use of Nucleon to provide power for the process, a situation likely made harder by his hands turning into spiky blades between scenes. The Nucleon flow was stopped by Bumblebee, but the entity arrived anyway and Incinerator was seen with a big "oh whoops" expression when the entity announced its name was Unicron. He moaned this wasn't meant to happen, moaned they were all going to die, and probably would've moaned that he had normal fingers again if things weren't so bad. Return to Cybertron: Part 3 He helped stop Unicron. Return to Cybertron: Part 4
When Stockade made a deal with the Autobots and arrived to defend Earth, Incinerator was part of his air support. Revolution Part 2 He joined Stockade in storming the Decepticon Heartland, and found himself in Megatron's gun-sights.
Fracture was standing next to him while warning Storm Surge to move, which may be why Incinerator's retreating back can be seen when Fracture was later trying to fight off a flying opponent. Speaking of his back, that's where Arcee attached a teleportation "tag" to him, causing him to be sent to and exiled on Cybertron. Revolution Part 3
IDW Transformers movie comics
Incinerator was one of the reinforcements sent to Earth by Soundwave, making his landing in Florida with Dropkick. They destroyed an American military base leaving no survivors, before scanning suitable Earth forms. Alliance issue 3
Both Incinerator and Dropkick were tracked down by the Autobots and their human allies. In the battle that followed, Incinerator had managed to pin Ratchet down with his blades, but was distracted when the Autobot medic sawed into his ankle, allowing Optimus Prime to finish him off with an energy blade through his spark. - Part of the "AllSpark Power" portion of the movie line, Incinerator transforms into a Bell Helicopter Textron/Boeing Helicopters V-22 Osprey tiltrotor transport aircraft, based upon the CV-22 variant used by the US Air Force and featured in the film. Pushing on the radar mounted on his tail activates an extensive gear-train, which causes both rotors to rotate regardless of whatever position his wings/arms are in. His Automorph feature opens up his canopy as his chest assembly is rotated downwards into robot mode and (in a lesser Automorph) pops out his pelvis once his legs are separated away from his vehicle underside.
- The TakaraTomy version of Incinerator sports a different color scheme than the Hasbro counterpart, replacing the two shades of gray with a primarily black color (but retaining the purple and "Allspark Power" blue plastic colors). In addition, it also sports "0025" markings on the tail in an attempt to make the alternate mode more movie-accurate, though this aim is questionable given the Ospreys in the Movie weren't black. Like all Japanese "Allspark Power" releases, "black" Incinerator comes with a small Allspark cube accessory.
Notes
- Incinerator was one of the many working names for fellow Decepticon helicopter Blackout.
- Incinerator's coloration and personality appear to be based on those of the Generation 1 Combaticon Vortex... which was yet another working name for Blackout.
- Incinerator's box art is curiously different from the actual toy's head design, as the art sports large, round, Bumblebee-styled eyes that take up a large portion of the face, whereas the toy's head sculpt sports a Jazz-type visor for eyes.
- Incinerator's appearance in IDW Publishing's Alliance comic features a design that is strongly influenced by Revenge of the Fallen concept artist Ben Procter's design for a transforming Osprey that would later become Springer.
- Perhaps coincidentally or not; Incinerator's death at the hands of Optimus Prime in Alliance is almost identical to how Optimus himself was later killed by Megatron in Revenge of the Fallen. Karma's a bitch ain't it?
