This article is about the space boy who lives on Exton-9. For the Middle Eastern villain, see Ali.
Ali is a human from the Blackthorne portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Ali is one of a group of five children who live on board the space station Exton-9. Though he often wears an identity-obscuring helmet, he is easily distinguished by his padded space-jerkin. The bravest of the five children, the one thing Ali despises is a coward.

While heading back to the station library after avoiding studying, Ali and his friends discovered that the station had been taken over by Decepticons and the human personnel all paralyzed by the suspension-ray beam. He immediately led his group towards the landing bay, confident he would be able to fly one of the ships. Encountering Cosmos, Ali threatened the Autobot with a gun, to force him to take the children to Andellor to fetch the Prism of Power. Cosmos agreed, and they departed the station. Ali soon realized that most of his companions were lousy cowards and pessimists, and he was forced to continually tell them to shut up whenever they stuck a hazard such as space vultures or Decepticons.

They eventually reached Andellor, and Ali lead the way into a cave. Within the cave, they encountered Grogg, and Fon was able to successfully answer the riddle and gain the use of the Prism. Ali was reluctant to accept Grogg's request to let Fon stay, but agreed and took the Prism. Returning to Exton-9, Ali used the crystal to successfully free the station personnel from their paralysis. Ali later asked to go with Cosmos, but the Autobot turned him down. Transformers in 3-D #2
