Talk:Kicker Jones
Yeah, tweaking the bio to make it based less on one continuity is all well and good, but can somebody who has read the Energon comics come up with something for Kicker? I don't read any of the TF comics, that's why I hardly ever mention them. --FFN 06:32, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
He was an afterthought in the comics. His only real scene is acting like a wuss when Mirage attacked. He is tossed out into the ocean per his annoyance and pulls a Jesus H. Christ, walking on water back to the scene of the battle.
Naming
Do we really want the page at "Chad "Kicker" Jones"? It seems kind of, uh, ugly. Are we going to move everybody who uses their nickname more than their first name? —Interrobang 07:49, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, who moved the page? It was agreed in 2006 that the page be left as Kicker, since that's the name 95% of people who have any interest in Energon would know him by, and Chad Jones was only in the Dreamwave comic, which, by comparison to the cartoon, was positively obscure.
- "Character articles about humans should use the human's full name if known. Characters with multiple names (as in the case of alter-egos) should have their article listed under their most prominent name, even if that means a human is listed under a code name instead of their real full name. For more detail on these complications, see Disambiguation." --FFN 15:09, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
KICKER KICKER BLAH BLAH BLAH KICKER
you guys use that a lot. where do you get it? ShinkisRule 15:31, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- ...from the cartoon?--RosicrucianTalk 15:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- We should really take the time clarify when people ask us about our own lame jokes. Ahem. "Kicker, Kicker our planets, Kicker!" was one of a series of nonsensical lines spouted by Alpha Q in the Energon. It's stupid and moderately amusing. --FFN 16:43, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- oh, yeah. he does say lots of goofy things. ShinkisRule 19:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Brian Jones, Jr.
His dad calls him "Junior" twice in Energon Tower, so isn't "Brian Jones, Jr." his real name? - Starfield 23:32, 9 May 2010 (EDT)
- Junior has a bunch of meanings and isn't limited to people who have the same names as their father. I think it'd be too much of a leap to assume Kicker's real name is "Brian". --abates 23:59, 9 May 2010 (EDT)
- If a father is calling his son "Junior" I think it is the most natural. "Kicker" has got to be a nickname and the story is letting us know his real name. The cartoon was made after The Last Crusade ("We named the dog 'Indiana'"). Plus his son protests at being called Junior. "Tell my dad that there isn't anyone called 'Junior' here." (because he's angsty and doesn't get along with his dad and wants everyone to call him by his cool nickname.) That doesn't make much sense if his dad was using "junior" casually. - Starfield 00:34, 10 May 2010 (EDT)
- I disagree. To me it sounds like Kicker is his real name, and he hates it when his dad calls him by the nickname "junior." If he was calling him "squirt" or "kiddo" we wouldn't assume his name is Squirt Jones. -- Semysane 03:39, 10 May 2010 (EDT)
