Might want to fix the KTLA and KCAL links for Los Angeles. :) --Lonegamer78 18:56, 31 July 2009 (EDT)

Actually it wasn't the links that were wrong for the KTLA links, it was the display text. But thanks for pointing that out as it resulted in my noticing the links for Lincoln were incorrect. And I suppose I could save people having to click through a disambig page for KCAL. :)--Tigerpaw28 03:05, 1 August 2009 (EDT)

Hi, sorry for taking so very long to get back to you. Unfortunately most of the newspaper archives I have access to cut out at 1977, which means they don't cover any of the relevant periods. The only info I've been able to glean is that the original Transformers cartoon was broadcast on WPIX and WHEC-TV to Syracuse (via the Syracuse Herald-Journal) in late 1984. I've also got a reference in a Madison, WI newspaper that I'm unable to interpret at the moment. Everything else is a bit of a washout, I'm afraid. --Tribimat 06:52, 15 July 2010 (EDT)

Not a problem at all. I'm glad you were able to come up with something. Interestingly, WPIX is out of NYC and WHEC from Rochester. I'd say that confirms Rochester. It also seems to indicate that the Syracuse market didn't have an affiliate for the show. Makes some sense as that market didn't have any independent stations until 1986. Could I possibly be of assistance in deciphering the Madison reference? --Tigerpaw28 15:35, 15 July 2010 (EDT)

Atlanta

I am almost 99% certain that Generation 1 ran on WGNX, which is now WGCL. I'd have to dig out tapes from my parents' attic to confirm, though. There were three stations running syndicated programming in Atlanta in the 80s, WGNX, WATL, and WUPA. UPA had the really third string stuff - Dinosaucers, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Denver the Last Dinosaur, maybe Robotech a couple years after it was hot. WGNX ran, IIRC, Joe, TF, He-Man in afternoons, with a fourth slot that rotated in and out with whatever the flavor of the season was - I clearly remember Rambo and Bravestarr. WATL, I think, really hit it big when they got TMNT, but before that mostly ran shows that skewed towards younger kids (Tom & Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, that kind of thing). I'd have to double-check with other Atlanta kids, though. I CAN confirm, however, that Beast Wars definitely ran on WUPA, while Beast Machines and RiD ran on WATL (even though they weren't the Fox affiliate at that point, they still ran the Fox Kids programming block). -hx 09:04, 15 July 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, two more Atlanta-area fans (Recharge and Robo_rob) confirm that TF ran on WGNX. I'll see if I can't dig up anything for Macon, GA while I'm at it. -hx 12:59, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Awesome, the info has been added. Thanks Hoop. --Tigerpaw28 15:35, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
G1 ran on WMGC in Macon, GA. No idea about G2 or BW. -hx 12:44, 16 July 2010 (EDT)

Charlotte

Virtually certain that the G1 toon ran on WCCB, as there were no other independent stations in Charlotte at the time and the networks ran soap operas in the afternoons when I distinctly remember watching it. --Khajidha 10:47, 15 July 2010 (EDT)

Another local fan agrees with my recollections, but I'm not sure where to find the documentation. --Khajidha 13:02, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Would that fan happen to be Zadox Rok? I found a post at thetf.net where he cites WCCB as the Charlotte affiliate. That we have at least two people, maybe three citing it, and the fact it was the only independent at the time are enough evidence for me to add it. As for documentation, either recorded promos for or during an airing would suffice as would a printed TV listing indicating the station call letter or city it was published in. While it would be nice to have, the difficulty involved in obtaining these things make it unrealistic to require them. Thanks for the help! --Tigerpaw28 15:35, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Nope, not Zadok, so three witnesses. I'm going to try looking at some microfilms of newspapers this weekend for citation of ads. --Khajidha 15:43, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
I think you messed up on adding Charlotte, WCCB was for G1 toon; I have no idea who ran G2 toon. I remember seeing it (I wish I didn't), but am not sure if it was still on WCCB or if WJZY had picked it up then. --Khajidha 16:15, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Indeed I did. Thanks for catching that. --Tigerpaw28 17:56, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
