because this wiki is character-focal, not toy-focal, I think this entry should be listed as Skyfire, not Jetfire. he was Skyfire in every major continuity, ever. That his toy had a different name is a detail for a footnote. Add a redirect under jetfire. -D-rok

Except for the Marvel comics. And the Dreamwave comics. WHOOPS. He's Skyfire in one out of three fictions, one out of four once you factor in the toys. So no, under Jetfire he should stay; the cartoon is the abberation. -- M Sipher

I don't think the Jetfire that appeared in the G2 Manga was the same Jetfire that appeared in the cartoon series. For one thing, he was always referred to as "Skyfire", even in toy-form. This Jetfire would not appear to be the same character as Skyfire.--DrSpengler 05:23, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

He was the same character in the US, but IIRC, in Japan, the 3 Cyberjets (who were all old characters in the US) were new characters. -Derik 12:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Autobot Symbol

I recently bought the Classics Jetfire figure, but there's something a little odd, and the source of debate on a few TF forums I frequent. The Autobot symbols on his wings are orange. Well, they are on my figure. Is this the case with the others? Seen from a distance, it's definitely orange. Closer, though, it appears to darken to red. It's odd. I dunno if this should go on Jetfire's page, on the G.I. Joe page, or what. Issue #5 is dated June 1987, meaning it was published after the G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover (dated November 1986 to February 1987). Or is this exchange already brought up somewhere? --Monzo 04:54, 4 April 2010 (EDT)

Dark Skyfire

Should Dark Skyfire get his own page? His bio clearly establishes him as a different character. Terrortron 16:12, 1 May 2010 (EDT)

Is that why it says "he operated in the same organization as Skyfire", in the Dark Skyfire section of the article? I'm guessing this means that "Skyfire" and "Dark Skyfire" are two separate entities. By th way, that section of the article uses the word "Destron" instead of "Decepticon". I'm pretty sure that's against wiki policy. Anyway, split page ? Item42 23:49, 17 June 2010 (EDT)

Destron is the Japanese name for the Decepticons. Henkei Henkei is a Japanese toyline/fiction, and is probably used on Skyfire's bio itself. So, uh, why would using "Destron" be against policy? --Jeysie 00:04, 18 June 2010 (EDT)

Maybe not against policy, but I thought using English-based names was the standard. The sections of Optimus Prime (G1)/Generation 1 cartoon continuity regarding Japanese fiction still call him "Optimus Prime", and not "Convoy". The section on Kup (G1) regarding the Headmasters cartoon use "Kup" and not "Chea"/"Cha". From Here to Alternity uses the word "Autobots" in the article itself. So, my point is, English-based names are used even when summarising Japanese fiction. Thus, having "Destron" while referring to "Decepticon" within an article here is rather strange from what I can tell.
