Psst. Use the 'preview' button while drafting to avoid making dozens of entries in the article's history. kthnks. -Derik 21:30, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

If you notice, he's making updates in distinct, separate sections on the same page, not repeated edits to the same thing. --ItsWalky 22:13, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
*looks* Oh, so he is. My bad.
Of course, if you're editing that many sub-sections, you could just do one big page-edit... but I knwo what a logistical headache that is, so I shan't begrudge him it. -Derik 22:41, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

French Starscream

Hey, Torsten. I have a question about the French Starscream addition you made to the misconceptions page -- in recent years I have mainly heard the rumor stated as "Starscream was played by a female in TFTM". Not that the character's gender was switched, and not that he had a female voice in the cartoon itself -- only for the movie. Do you have some French fan friends you could clarify that with? --Steve-o 17:15, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Only French fan I could think offhand would be Gthesite. Haven't heard from him in years.--Nevermore 20:16, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmm. Well, I'm uneasy about this. In those clips on Bigbot, Starscream's voice certainly sounds female to me. (Either that, or he's supposed to be a child.) The Starscream (G1) article's trivia states that the gender swap applied only to the movie, which is what I remember hearing before, although the wording there implies that the character became female, and not just the voice. Sadly the sound quality on the clips is awful so I can't actually make out the gender reference that Renaud says is in the one clip. Still, despite my general opinion of Renaud, I do at least trust him to understand spoken French, so I'm inclined to believe what he says there. Gthesite's comment on TFarchive could easily apply only to the TV series and not the film. I think that the entry about this on the misconceptions page should be softened or removed until/unless we can figure things out for sure. Do you object to that? --Steve-o 20:43, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

KNOCK IT OFF

OK, why the hell are you putting a bunch of articles in Category: Fan terminology that are NOT fan terminology, or are already in it? --FortMax 14:07, 1 September 2010 (EDT)

Did you read this?--Nevermore 09:14, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
I think you are seeing fan usage of some of these as being different when other people don't agree. You stated that the industry uses mold to mean the tooling and fandom uses it to mean the sculpt. But I often say and hear other people say that two figures share a mold, which could be interpreted either way, industry usage probably covers both alternatives as well. Even if the different definitions were more distinct, calling fan usage (even incorrect usage) of an industry term a fan term just seems wrong (or at least misleading). --Khajidha 09:26, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
Nev, there may be a use for this category. But it needs to be talked about BEFORE anyone goes around putting a bunch of articles in it. --FortMax 10:26, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
