What exactly is upsetting you, again? Singularity 07:11, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

  • The ridiculous arbitrariness of your naming schema, most specifically your need to make a very simple system unnecessarily complex. Hooper X 07:12, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
    • You mean like moving stuff from "(UT)" to "(Unicron Trilogy)", of which... you seem to agree with (I don't particularly care for the "(Armada)" or "(Unicron Trilogy)" deal). Or "(cartoon)" to "(television series)" which is hardly complicated, nor does it particularly harm anybody (removes the fuzzy line between "animated series" and "comic"). It also streamlines it with the category and the constant references to "television series".

Or, uh, what? Singularity 07:31, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
      • I've actually kind of gone over to the other camp that, as long as there's a unified acronym for each era, the acronyms are considerably easier to use. Hooper X 07:32, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
        • That doesn't really help the peope who don't know what the acronyms stand for (Dirge (T)? UT? C'mon.) or the acronym is already taken (Hey, Bowel Machines.). Singularity 07:47, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
          • That's why we put the Unified Abbreviation System in the [[[Style Guide]]. Duh. Hooper X 05:04, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

You are unnecessarily awesome. -Derik 04:12, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

EW Sky Lynx

Hoop, can you take a pic of this against a couple sheets of white paper? --M Sipher 04:12, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

  • When I get one, sure! -hx 12:27, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I thought you had this. You'd said they were out, and were going on about Lynx... gave me the impression you'd picked him up. Alrighty. --M Sipher 15:39, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
No - he's just that awesome. -hx 21:45, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

SO I DON'T FORGET

potential questions for hasbro in the future:

  • (for the entire TF team) The TF brand has presented hundreds, if not thousands of weird and wonderful characters over the last 25 years. Who are, respectively, your most and least favorite characters from TF history? (C'mon, be honest. We'll understand if you secretly hate Grapple.)
  • Over the years, the TF brand has featured many fun and memorable play features, from rub signs to triple changers to Action Masters. For the entire TF team: What are your favorite play gimmicks, aside from transformation itself?
  • We know that due to changes in toy safety laws, we're never getting a realistic hand-gun Megatron ever again. We've heard that the "spark-shooting" action found on some G1 toys is a similar situation. Can you confirm that the spark-shooting feature is no longer a possibility? Are there any other "classic" gimmicks we're unlikely to see in the future because of legal/safety concerns?
  • The unreleased Robot Heroes "Dessaras" figure - why was that name chosen? Did "Deathsaurus" fail to clear legal or were there other concerns (retailers/parents/children not wanting to buy a toy with the word "Death" in its name, "Deathsaurus" being an admittedly goofy moniker, etc.)
  • In regards to store exclusives, how much input does the retail partner have into the finished product? Is it "give us X figures at price point Y" or is it more hands-on than that - "give us an Autobot car and a Decepticon jet, and the Autobot should be in such-and-such a color scheme..."
  • At one point near the end of the Alternators sub-line, a major retailer's computer system listed several toys that never saw the light of day - Megatron as a Cadillac, as well as repaints of the Scion and Mustang molds. Who were the Scion and Mustang intended to be, if they even got to that stage of development?
  • (for the entire TF team) Fun/silly question: If you could make a Transformer toy of anything in the world that hasn't ALREADY been a Transformers toy, what would it be? You can be as specific (1974 AMC Javelin, P-38 Lightning, Cobra HISS) or as general (school bus, tractor, port-a-potty) as you wish.
  • Based on past releases, it seems to be possible to repair older molds to restore detail lost with repeated use. Specifically, the G1 Jazz mold appears to have had its face detail corrected between the 2003 U.S. reissue and the 2004 release of the mold as Ricochet. Are there limits to how much damage can be repaired, or is it just a matter of whether it's economically feasible to repair a mold?
    • Recent releases of the Classics Starscream mold seem to be showing some degree of mold wear and tear from use. Are there any plans to repair or re-cut the mold to restore its clarity?
  • Regarding the larger, transformable, Titanium Series figures: Is it possible to manufacture these figures using plastic instead of die-cast, or would using plastic potentially limit the durability, integrity, or stability of the finished product?
  • Can you guys please ask around over at Tomy and find out who's writing the story materials for the Alternity line? There are a bunch of great callouts to U.S. fiction going on over there, and we'd like to give credit where credit is due. NEVER MIND.
  • During the "Unicron Battles" era of the Armada toy-line, packaged samples of redecoed versions of the Adventure, Space, and Street Speed Mini-Con teams appeared on various auction sites. Why were these items never released commercially?
  • It's understood that Hasbro now owns the intellectual property related to the Tonka GoBots - but exactly how much does Hasbro own? Could we see a DVD release of "Challenge of the GoBots"? Is it possible that the GoBots stories could one day be retroactively integrated into TF continuity, much as M.A.S.K. was retroactively inserted into GIJoe's via the Matt Trakker figure?
  • Is there an industry term for the various catalogs, flyers, DVDs, comics and other materials sometimes packaged in with Transformers figures? (All the stuff that isn't the instruction sheet, effectively.)
  • It's great to see obscure characters from the early Transformers media get official identities, like Acid Storm. Are there official identities for the other "Rainmakers" seen alongside him in the cartoon episode "Divide and Conquer"? (Some fans claim that Sunstorm is the yellow one, but the blue guy definitely has no name.)
  • At various points, licensees like Marvel Comics and some of the Japanese-market publication have held "Create a Transformer" contests. Does Hasbro/Tomy own the rights to characters generated in such contests, and if so, could we ever see, say, Sunbender or Star Upper again?
  • As far back as the original 1984 toyline, we've seen Transformer characters referred to as "brothers," as well as relationships like "cousins" and even a "great-aunt Arcee." Can you explain how robots can have "brothers," much less "cousins"?
  • Can you give us any information on the production house that's doing the Transformers: Cyber Missions webisodes? Who are they? Where do they come from? What do they want to do with their lives?
  • So Megatron has already been inducted into the Transformers Hall of Fame. Does that mean that Galvatron is already in the Hall of Fame too, or would he have to be voted in by fans?
  • FOR THE MARVEL TEAM: The packaging for the Marvel Transformers says Iron Man and Mr. Fantastic built the battlesuits using "alien technology." Were those aliens the Transformers? If so, was it an information exchange, or a gift, or did they cut up a bunch of Decepticon corpses and see what they could make of them? (The thought of them cutting up Autobot corpses is a bit much!)

"...One from the vaults."?

I don't get it? --MistaTee 21:14, 5 November 2009 (EST)

It's a bit from Rocky Horror Picture Show, giving it nearly 10 times more Nerd Cred by volume than a prostate joke where "prostate" is misspelled. -hx 08:12, 6 November 2009 (EST)
Gotcha. Never saw RHPS, but no need to get snarky about a misspelling, considering I fix them myself on a bunch of pages every day. I think one slipping through is forgivable. I'm not a n00b here. --MistaTee 10:49, 6 November 2009 (EST)
No need to get snarky? Dude, that's practically all I do here. -hx 12:14, 6 November 2009 (EST)

Try me!

I had added a Russian transcription to the article you recommended. Look and tell if it is right, please. If it is right, I can add such note to all such articles. --He-l-en1959 12:39, 29 November 2009 (EST)

Ye-s-s-s-s! "Waz-z-z-z-zpinator" is NOT so z-z-z-ztupid as z-z-zomebody may z-z-z-z-think!--He-l-en1959 02:30, 30 November 2009 (EST)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you've been beaten to the punch. --Tigerpaw28 12:36, 28 December 2009 (EST)

Great job!

Convincing Derrick J. Wyatt to hate the wiki. Pat yourself on the back. - Cattleprod 15:25, 28 September 2010 (EDT)

Wait, what? Explain. -- Semysane 16:22, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
He added "Molestache" as a caption to a picture of Derrick with a moustache. Derrick requested it to be taken down because he found it offensive. --NCZ 16:26, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
Nice. Smart AND classy. -- Semysane 16:27, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
I can't believe you guys would give in to possibly a Derrick impersonator's bawwwing and take out something truly funny. Besides, it was Derrick's fault that he grew the molestache in question. --LokitheGrammarNazi 16:30, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
A: Someone else said that it really was him, and B: That's a really insensitive response. Even if it isn't him, I don't think it's a good idea to imply that Derrick J. Wyatt molests children, even if it's a joke. --NCZ 16:35, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
I was really confused at first because I was reading it as 'mole - stash'. Once I realized that it was supposed to be 'mo-less-tash', I think it was way over the line and should have been taken down no matter who the complainant was. --Khajidha 16:38, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
