Should this page be moved to have (BW) without the N? --KilMichaelMcC 03:47, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

I suppose if that's how we're hangling all BW* series... --M Sipher 03:51, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

An Inpronouncable name? Sounds like Unicron was buying minions from Cthulhu at the time of Neo.

The Blentrons have a definate Lovecraftian influence; a cult of freakish monsters that can bend the fabric of reality, determined to revive a primordial God. One of the reasons why I loved those guys. --DrSpengler 19:18, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

I have to ask, where can I get my hands on BW II and Neo cartoons? Can you buy it, or would I have to DL it? I'm having to get Region one DVDs for BW 1 since the English DVDs START at the end of Season 2(I live in the UK). It doesn't make a lot of sense. For some reason, I'm loving Transformers Animation more than ever recently. Has it even been translated (it sounds like they are Japanese Language) into English, or does all this info come from people who have learn Japanese?

  • There have been some fandubs of Beast Wars II and Neo, but they're just getting started. You can download them at the usual places, but I don't know much about that so I can't really help you, there. I got mine in raw Japanese on bootleg VHS tapes many years.

To be honest, Beast Wars II is as awful as it gets and watching it is a real chore. Beast Wars Neo is a slight improvement but doesn't get really good until the Unicron Saga, and that's at the very end of the series. --DrSpengler 00:44, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I do support having humor in articles, but... is calling this character by a different retarded name every time actually funny? I think I'd prefer it just stick with Rartorarta, since that's the article name. --Steve-o 19:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I thought it was funny, at least in so much as an expression of the authors disdain for the characters incomprehsible name. --UndeadScottsman 19:38, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. Perhaps we should just leave the goofy names in the "(also spelled...)" and leave the actual information within the article alone. --DrSpengler 20:17, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. I think the new-name-every-time is both funny and a good reflection on the retardedness of the original name. He's the Lump Beefbroth, Fridge Hardmeat, Buck Plankchest, Blast Hardcheese of TF-dom. --M Sipher 23:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
I... have no idea what you are talking about. But regardless, maybe the problem is that I don't see what makes this name so ire-inspiring. It sounds just like any other nonsense name to me. It also bothers me that a lot of the false names in the article sound so little like the actual name. It all comes across, to me at least, as spiteful instead of being in good fun. --Steve-o 00:29, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I don't think it's particularly funny, myself, but I can tell you the reason I have more ire for Rartorarta than almost anyone else is that it's impossible to tell what his name is supposed to be, which is frustrating. -LV 00:35, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
It's a terrible fucking name. It makes no sense in Japanese, and even less sense in English. It deserves to be made fun of. Then again, I wrote the original article, so yeah, it's probably a leeetle spiteful. But fuck it, it's funny. -hx 01:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
So far, two votes for funny, two votes for not funny. I'm on the fence, so I can't be a real tiebreaker. I like the concept of the joke, but the execution seems to be overwhelming the article. --ItsWalky 01:20, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps reigning it in a little, so that the names seem to (for the most part) bear some vague resemblance to Rattoratcha? -Derik 02:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Count me in with those who like the article as it stands. Tamper not with comedic genius lest ye be cast alive into the smelting pits of Dullsville! I think a huge part of the comedy here is that the names get stupider and stupider as the article goes on. MUST SAV FUNY! --Autobus Prime 13:46, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I think I'd be more concerned about it if this was say, Rattrap or Starscream or Side Burn's article. Fartpaddle is an incredibly minor character in the TF mythos. It's like making fun of Zeebop Scandana or O's dad or someone else totally inconsequential. Who, honestly, gives a fuck about these guys? Doing something like this is the most attention they'll ever get. -hx 18:41, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Plus his stupid names makes it bloody hard to find pictures of him. --FFN 23:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, are we in need of character art? I have a Neo guidebook somewhere with good pics. -Derik 00:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I like the article as written, though I think some of the more outlandish ones (like Brickabrack and Scarsborough) should be changed to things that bear at least a slight resemblance to his actual name. - Dark T Zeratul 00:31, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I'll thrown in a vote for "funny" if someone puts in either Rad Rachel or Lardgargler. I don't think I can do it with clear conscience myself.--MCRG 01:01, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Scarborough does resemble the original name. -Derik 01:09, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Plus, come on. Paul Simon reference. --M Sipher 01:19, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I find this article funny with the mess of names. Perhaps returning to the original name for the toy anf the link for some clarity, and then slipping back into the silliness of the names. ~ Ithekro

I like names, but I should point out I meant his REAL name makes it hard to find pics of him to use in the article. So yeah Derik, I'd welcome some kind of profile picture, preferrably something that (alledgedly) makes him look badass and pathetic at the same time. --FFN 05:04, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Now that this character has a pretty visible role in an English-language story, I'd just like to renew my comment that I think the name-changing thing in this article is incredibly annoying and completely not-funny. --Steve-o 04:56, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

I think that names that hold some similarity to his real name (Larrylatta) are good, but ones that are just jumbles (Galavanta) just make the article harder to understand, especially if the fake name could easily be used as the name of an actual Transformer.--Zodberg 05:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree entirely with this Steve-o character. It isn't funny or clever, and reads like a whiny transfan calling something names because he doesn't like it. Much like "Has-blow" and.. well, I can't think of another example, but it shouldn't have any place on a wiki anyway. --Specimen-17 22:34, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
I really don't see the comparison between the whininess of "Hasblo" and the attempted humor in this article. It's trying to be funny, not spiteful. Don't care for the inclusion either way. Interrobang 22:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

The thing is, this isn't the only article to try to make this joke. We've got a good half dozen articles that make the exact same cracks about bizarre Romanization of Japanese names. Kind of overkill, I think.--Rosicrucian 22:55, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

You guys all suck. It's funny because "Rartorata" is a completely stupid, made up and pointless name. He might as well be called Thrakkorzog (which was, indirectly, what inspired the entire list of wacky mispronunciations). -hx 00:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

I have finally found an origin for his name! It's a portmanteau of "Raion" (lion), "Tora" (tiger) and "Chī" (cheetah). 24.202.105.245 22:58, 31 October 2010 (EDT)

Throatwarbler Mangrove.

At the risk of belaboring the funny, here is why "Throatwarbler Mangrove doesn't have to sound anything like "Rartorata":

Interviewer: Good evening. I have with me in the studio tonight one of Britain's leading skin specialists - Raymond Luxury Yacht.
Raymond: That's not my name.
Interviewer: I'm sorry - Raymond Luxury Yacht.
Raymond: No, no, no - it's spelled Raymond: Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced 'Throatwarbler Mangrove'.
Interviewer: You're a very silly man and I'm not going to interview you.

And that as they say is that.--RosicrucianTalk 23:00, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

That reminds me - I need to buy the Monty Python DVD set. --FFN 23:11, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

His size

Considering how HUGE Razorbeast got because of the Anglomois in his system, would it be a safe bet to say that Rartorata became that big because of it as well? --Detour 19:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Quite likely. All three Blendtrons were behemoths.--RosicrucianTalk 19:54, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
