Tim Tobolski
Tim Tobolski (born in Buffalo, New York[1]) is a comic writer and artist. Inspired by the cartoons of his youth, he aspired to become a cartoonist, and got his break in the mid-80s, working for Blackthorne Publishing on a number of titles including Transformers, Of Myths and Men, and Laffin' Gas.[2] He later ended up in Florida, working at Barnes and Noble, during which time he became friends with a local comic book artist, leading eventually to a job at the Bart Sears' Studio in New York. While there, he created the comic character of Doc Absurd, a name he now uses as an online alias.[3] While Doc Absurd was popular, the rest of the studio's comic was not, and the studio closed down a short time later.[1] In 2006, he was involved in launching the Independent Creators Coalition, a group intended to bring together small press comic creators, however the venture did not come to fruition due to circumstances outside his control.[4]
