Location, Location, Location

Is Shaula in Alpha Centauri? If not that location needs to be moved out of the general intro info and down to Marvel Comics, Right? --ZacWilliam 19:11, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Shaula is 700 ly distant and Ac is 4, so... no.

IMO, the Alpha Centauri thing is common eenough to merit being on top. Maybe with a caveat- Due to its spacefaring nature in the distant past, Cybertron's location varies in different continuities, but it is frequrntly round in Alpha Centauri.

IDW isn't the only reason to force AC out of beign a blanket statement anyway- Cybertrow as in another galaxy in the Armada comics (and cartoon... I think.) -Derik 19:20, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Movie Continuity

The Risk game is set in the movie continuity, and gives us a map (of sorts) of that version of Cybertron based mostly on the DK guide, but with some verriation. Does anyone have the game yet, to give us a run-down of all the locations and there general placement (and any other releveant info contained therin? --ZacWilliam 11:50, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Optimus Prime's visual flashback showing Megatron on Cybertron in the movie. With the constant furnace like lava flows(?) and apparently transforming landscape, is this a representation of Cybertron (or a part of it) in the movie continuity, or just Op being a big metaphor lover.

• Anyone else notice the movie Cybertron section contains very little about Cybertron itself, instead summarizing (though not in a short way) the events of the movies and comics? I know there isn't much known, but this info seems to be misplaced... the events that happened there are hardly a description of Cybertron itself. -- Cliffjumper prime 11:42, 18 March 2010 (EDT)

Locations list

The top of the article is not an appropriate place to put a list of random locations that happen to have articles. Further, Mass Transit System isn't a "location". For the time being I've simply moved the list to the bottom of the page, but it is still not an appropriate way of presenting the list. We already have Category:Planet Cybertron, so honestly I don't see the need to list these places at all unless they are going to come up naturally in the course of the article. (In a similar vein, the mention of the demons seems really out of place, as if it was put there simply for the sake of linking to that article, rather than linking to the article in the course of mentioning it.) --Steve-o 03:30, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

spelling

If セイバートロン isn't romanized as 'Seibertron,' fine, but shouldn't the footnote at least include that even though "セイバートロン" and "サイバートロン" are both frequently r2omanized as 'Cybertron'—and thus 'Seibertron' isn't correct per-se... the are two are still spelled differently in Japan? -Derik 00:07, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I debated about how to handle that, because, strictly speaking, this is not a spelling issue but a pronunciation issue. Like "bass" (the guitar) and "bass" (the fish), they're words that are spelled the same but pronounced differently... uh, heteronyms. --Monzo 00:20, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

I am sure セイバートロン couldn't be a pronunciation of Cybertron. It could be "Sabertron", "Seibatron", "Seibertron"... and others. Darn. --TX55^TALK 00:45, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Well, that is the other issue at hand: we have that "セイバートロン" is written "Cybertron" in English from three different sources (Headmasters game, laserdisc, Galaxy Force packaging), so I don't think we can ignore that. I will say, though, that the issue of Japan writing things in English one way and having people pronounce them another way is not unique to this situation... it crops up in Capcom's Mega Man/Rockman enemies, for example. Despite his name being "Bomb Man" in written English, the katakana for the character's name reads "Bomber Man" (ボンバーマン); the same situation exists for "Centuar Man", whose name in katakana actually reads "Kentauros Man" (ケンタウロスマン). It's not an issue of not being able to derive "seibaatoron" from "Cybertron", as I see it. --Monzo 01:22, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

New Kaon

How can New Kaon be on Cybertron? If its a Decepticon refuge place where they go to get away from Autobots why would it be on an Autobot planet? I'm new to Transformers so can someone explain it.

("Traitorous electro-toad!"), and so are hydro-weasels ("You treacherous hydro-weasel!"), photovoltaic pussycats from "Changing Gears" ("A real photovoltaic pussycat!"), robo-rats from "Sea Change" ("Ohhh, robo-rats!"), and sheepacrons from "The Master Builders" ("Ol' Powerglide just spotted your lost sheepacrons!").
