This would hardly be the first time humans have allied themselves with the Decepticons. Shawn Berger, Doctor Arkeville, the Geddis brothers, and Abdul Fakkadi spring to mind. And Thadius Braxis from GoBots was allied with the Renegades. Another thought, maybe this guy is actually a Pretender like Alice.
