MENDOOOOOZAAAAA!

A rebellious 'bot, Warpath is not very content with following orders from Optimus Prime. He seems to believe that if Optimus really was fighting for freedom, he would let the other Autobots do what they want instead of listening to him. While Warpath shares Optimus's view of beating the Decepticons, he wants to do it his way.

Fiction

IDW Transformers Movie comics

Many years ago, Warpath was a member of Cybertron's Science Division under the command of Optimus and Protector Megatron. He was part of the dig team excavating the ruins outside the temple of Simfur when a mysterious relic was unearthed. Soon after, strange aliens from the Eshems Nebula attacked, reducing much of Metrotitan to rubble. Defiance issue 1 In the aftermath, he helped Clocker and Signal Flare search for survivors in the ruins. Later, he was present at a meeting called by Optimus, who explained Megatron's demand for compulsory military service and a new mission of war against all of Cybertron's enemies. Warpath heeded Optimus' warning and kept out of Megatron's personal war. Defiance issue 2 However, Optimus' followers were soon branded traitors and civil war erupted across Cybertron. Warpath joined Optimus Prime's Autobots and was one of those who elected to stay behind while the Autobot ship Ark pursued the AllSpark, which had been cast into space in a desperate attempt to buy the Autobots some time. Defiance issue 4

"...burst into a dance number?! I thought you'd never ask!"

Thousands of years later, Warpath, along with Grindcore, Signal Flare, and Elita-One, was captured during a raid and put to work by Stockade to construct Starscream's replica AllSpark at Simfur. While constructing it, Warpath tried to defend the stricken Grindcore from a pair of Payload drones, but was smacked around by Stockade for his efforts. He and Signal Flare later tried to send a message to their Autobot comrades, but found that they were being jammed. Upon the AllSpark's completion, he was strapped to it, with the intention of draining his life-force to power the cube. The Reign of Starscream #4

His life force was indeed drained and used to power the AllSpark replica, but the new cube ended up not working for some reason. Which means Warpath and the others died for absolutely nothing.

Starscream had successfully shot down Stratosphere and destroyed his shipment of MechTech weapons. However, he carelessly led the Autobots and NEST to Megatron's hidden base located in Chernobyl and Warpath was among the forces who invaded with the intent to end the Decepticon threat once and for all.

With surprise on their side, the Autobots and their NEST allies had the Decepticons on the defensive for most of the action. While the battle raged, Warpath led a unit underground towards an unknown facility. When Megatron appeared in an uncharacteristic truck alternate mode, the Autobots and NEST forces were swept aside. Warpath confronted Megatron in a missile silo.

Despite his confidence (asking that Megatron not go down too easily) and unleashing the full firepower of his tank mode and robot mode armaments, Warpath was defeated. Megatron contemptuously noted, "You couldn't beat me on your best day!" before continuing on to free Shockwave.

  • Warpath (Scout, 2008)
    • Accessories: Missile, Key
A redeco of Cybertron Brushguard (itself a slight retool of Overhaul to remove the molded-on Autobot sigil), Warpath transforms into an off-road vehicle similar to a Humvee. Plugging his blue and black Velocitronian Cyber Planet Key into his robot mode back launches his chest-mounted missile. (While in theory you can do this in car mode too, the missile is blocked.) Like the rest of the Allspark Power line of toys, Warpath has blue paint applications in both modes to suggest Allspark energies. He was available as part of the fourth assortment of Target exclusive Scout-class toys.
This toy was later repurposed to be Shattered Glass Crosshairs.
