Uh... visual aid
Destorn Soldier (it shoudl be Decepticon soldier, the name comes from Generations,w hich named him by the JP convention) appears in the Micromasters Battle Station comercial.
The comercial clearly bases him on Scorponok, but only very loosely. That isnt' green onhim, color-fading aside, it's dark gray (possibly greenish-gray, but definatel ynot Scorponok's green.) No shoulder cannons, and gray shoulders and legs. (and hands, but we'll ignore that)
Where did this come from?
The FIRST Micromasters comercial- the LONG one, which featured only the first wave and had animation and stop-motion footage not featured in any other comercial, showed them battling both Scorponok (original toy) and, well... not-Scorponok, as you see here. With no shoudler-cannons. And gray shoulders and legs. Destron Soldier a Wave 3(ish) Micromaster comercial was almost certainly based on this guy, meshed around a bit with Scorponok's colors. (Again, they both appeared in the same comercial.) Was he a test-shot they had lying aroudn and thre in for a comercial? A repaint? A planend re-release in new colors like Japan had because he was the right sidze to play as a Micromaster base?
Who knows. What I DO know is that that color-combination-- is not possible on Scorponok's mold. And while the color is realyl grotty int his comercial, it kicks in again for the last frame I have snapped here- where you see his colors are white, blue, and dark gray. Surprisingly similar to the Kabaya Scorponok.
That last bit is almost certianly a coincidence- Kabaya Scorponok inherited his colors from Kabaya Fort Max. But still.
Um, anyway, I was putting this up bere for responses before I added any of it to the article. I think it's well-substantiated enough to stick int he article, but I want to know if others think it's too speculative. -Derik 02:03, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

- I am contribuiting to this discussion the stuff abotu the repainted Scorponok from the 1st Micromasters comercial, which has gray laid out in the same impossible-on-the-toy manner as Giant Destron Soldier. (As seen in my visual aid) -Derik 02:18, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
